I stayed 3 nights and would love to have stayed more! I came for the tea and could not be happier with my experience. I learned a ton about how pu’er tea is made and graded and marketed and sold. My hosts were super-nice - they treated me like family. Special thanks to Abu, whose singing is nothing short of angelic. When she sang during my check-in I was amazed but worried that locals were expected to sing for guests. But a highlight of my stay - of my entire trip to China - was listening to her sing when she was working around the guesthouse and thought no one was listening. A quick piece of advice for new guests: get out and explore the local village/market/mountain. There’s so much to see here, and your hosts are proud of their community and culture and will help you appreciate it.

I can not describe in words hoe it is to stay here. The whole family is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful and do everything that you have an amazing stay here.
The guesthouse is as beautiful as the souls of the people here. Me and my boyfriend loved the time here and also extend for one night, so we stay here 5 nights and would stay longer if we could. Everything is so nice and beautiful - calm and just paradise in countryside! Thanks to all of this beautiful place!

This is the most hospitable place I’ve ever stayed at. The place and the owner are wonderful. Hospitality had no borders - very caring, inviting for tea, explaining tea making process. Beautiful tranquil place with marvellous view over tea plantations. Possible to hike around the area through tea plantations, forest and some fields as well. Very tranquil and no people on the hike. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Will definitely be back!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of China's Tea Plantations
Our stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. We traveled as a group of eight, including two young children, three grandparents, and three adults, and every single one of us had an incredible time. Nestled amidst lush tea plantations, the setting is absolutely stunning. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises and a serene mist that blanketed the landscape. The house itself is a work of art—crafted entirely of wood and with impeccable aesthetic taste that reflects a deep respect for nature.
But as beautiful as the surroundings and accommodations are, the true highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the host. In our three years in China, we have never experienced anything like it. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were visiting a dear friend rather than staying in a hotel. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care made us feel completely at home.
The food was exceptional, and we were treated to fresh fruits and tea throughout the day. She showed special care for our children, teaching them (and us!) how to make tea, and even accompanied us on a walk to share her knowledge of the local flora. One day, she surprised us with her hidden talent as a musician, singing traditional Chinese songs while playing the guitar and drums. Her smile and positive energy were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all of us.
This homestay was more than just a place to stay—it was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, warmth, and cultural connection. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, knowing this was the best place we've ever stayed in China. If you're looking for a place that offers not just comfort but also an extraordinary sense of belonging, this is it. Highly recommended!

Perfect location for a relaxing couple of days. Room on first night (queen bed terrace) was great with fabulous views. Frog was found in the bathroom but hotel staff quick to remove. Second night (queen bed outdoor bathtub) was worth the extra money for a much larger room which was a great location to have our friends over for games in the evening as the previous night outside was a bit chilly! Bath was great although more privacy is needed as only a small bit of rattan around it. Pool was open but too cold to swim, can imagine it’s great in the summer. During the day when sat round the pool, bit noisy as some building work was going on. Restaurant nearby was great. A highlight of the trip was being taken on walks by the owners dog. All staff members were friendly and attentive. Have already recommended to friends.

100% recommend. We stayed here for 5 days and would have loved to stay even longer. Rooms are beautiful, and there are different spaces to relax on the property. The food at the restaurant is delicious and offers plenty of options for several days. The village offers amazing views and there are many paths to be explored on foot. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Amazing find in the middle of tea garden in a village 30-40 drive from Jinghong. Location is simply great - peaceful in a small village. Rooms are designed with care, comfortable and very well maintained. The hosts are hospitable and helpful with suggestions for trips around. On top of all that, they have a friendly dog in the garden welcoming incoming guests. I highly recommend to spend at least a night there while traveling in Xishuangbanna. The highlight of our vacation.

This is one of the loveliest hotels I've ever stayed in! The hotel grounds are gorgeous and the perfect retreat from city life. You can spend the day relaxing by the pool, taking in the views from the terrace, and hiking around the surrounding tea fields. The owners of the hotel are incredible and always there to help out. We completely fell in love with their friendly dog, who even accompanied us on one of our hikes. We also loved the breakfast (noodle soup with fresh local fruit and sweet potatoes served alongside). I just recommend you bring snacks along on your stay, since there are no shops nearby to buy things.
This is the perfect place for anyone who wants to recharge their batteries in nature. I'll definitely be back :)

Beautiful views greet you when you arrive. An oasis in the tea plantations promise peace and quiet. We stayed in the pool room cabin which looks lovely from the outside and has gorgeous views from the bed. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Unfortunately, the cabin is not insulated so it is freezing at night. There is an electric blanket, which is a nice touch, but the cabin itself does not heat up; a completely inadequate air con that is noisy and doesn’t really work. They gave us a tiny fan heater - equally useless. When looking carefully, you’ll notice that the place isn’t cleaned properly and there is dust everywhere. The shower leaks through to the bedroom and water pools just under a plug unit. Quite dangerous.
Despite these things, we had a nice stay. It truly is a beautiful location with several walking options. The hosts invited us to join in the roast tea celebration for Chinese new year, and they made a lovely bonfire. I suppose the biggest disappointment was that we had to pay for coffee with breakfast. Ive stayed in many many places around the world, and never been charged for a cup of mediocre coffee at breakfast. Not sure I’d rush back. Not completely value for money.

If you are looking for an escape in the mountains to rest and relax then be sure to stay here. The rooms are beautifully designed and the service is excellent. You can take long walks with the owners pet who can navigate you on your way. The family restaurant cooks some delicious dishes. I suggest taking snacks as there are no shops close by.

One of the coolest spots I’ve stayed at in China for a comfortable and relaxing guesthouse experience. This is the place you are looking for if you want a quiet getaway for a few days.
The scenery and hiking/walking around the location are superb. The guesthouse’s breakfast and tea service are simple but lovely. Restaurant for lunch or dinner is limited to a small countryside spot just a few minutes’ walk away. If you require luxury/VIP you are better off staying in Shanghai, but the food here was excellent and the Beer Lao is cold.
Best about the place was the staff, including the lovely laobanniang who speaks English and the wonderful chubby tour guide dog Sawasdee Kha who loves afternoon walks through the tea fields and belly scratches.

This is a very relaxing resort in the hills of a tea plantation. I travelled on my own and I was made to feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, organising drivers and trips for me. The dinners were simple, but fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs a few days break in fresh air and tranquility.

Here you can empty your mind, relax your body, and feel the cultural atmosphere of ethnic minorities. This trip is worthwhile and I will definitely visit again in the future. Thank you Abu for helping me mail the charger. I love you Abu!
