Best Sunday lunch I've ever had! Have never been before, but went today as I was passing and wanted somewhere to stop for lunch. I've been to many country pubs before and so thought this would be similar but wow did this stand out! The most incredible roast I've ever had in my life and I'm not exaggerating, how it doesn't have Michelin stars I don't know. The presentation, the taste, it was incredible. Not to mention the exceptional service from all of the staff. I live quite a distance away, but have already booked again and I'm travelling especially. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience

Very impressive roast, one of the best I have had. The quality of the food was great, and the portion size was perfect. We will certainly be back!

A warm welcome by all the staff who were attentive , even though it was a bustling Saturday when we arrived. We had three of the starters to share, followed by the fish and chunky chips that were all beautifully presented. Our room was at the top compact yet airy with the en suite sporting velux windows allowing good ventilation. The breakfast menu had a variety of egg dishes, porridge and English fry ups A cost effective stay that was well worth it.

We stayed at The Redan for a night and it was an excellent choice. The room we stayed in above the bar was quiet, clean and spacious. There was some lovely toiletries and and a good shower in our en-suite. The following morning we have a well prepared and cooked full English breakfast and it was delicious. A lot of thought and care has gone into the decor which suits the pub and the rooms. I would recommend this for a great stay and if we in the vicinity we will definitely stay here again - a little gem!

The worst hotel room we have experienced for a long time. Room 4 was barely big enough to accommodate the bed, with no wardrobes or storage other than a few clothes hangers on the back of the door. No A/C on a baking night, just the noise of some equipment through the open window from the tatty buildings outside. What it did have was a stained and threadbare carpet; the curtain hanging off the end of the rail; a dirty window and peeling paint on the windiw frame. The shabby chic look with the battered old enamel signs and old bucket as a waste bin was just shabby. One sign was for an old shoe manufacturer with the strap line 'Worn Around the World'. Worn it certainly is. The evening meal was OK, standard pub fare, but the breakfast far from it. No water ot juice on offer, we had a meagre offering of two small rashers of plastic bacon with a little scrambled egg on one round of sourdough toast. Could we have regular bread? No, we only have sourdough. Well sour it was for quite a lot of dough! Never again!

Excellent place....loved every minute of our stay...would have no problem returning....very friendly staff...lovley menu....we had the superior room...spotless...couldn't find a fault if I tried.....own car park...plenty of outside seating.......I'm not really a pizza fan..but I tried one ....couldn't finish it...lovley big pizza.......couldn't fault the breakfast either.....I can personally highly recommend the redan.....if I could give it eleven out of ten I would......thanks for a brilliant stay....

The rooms on the website states luxury rooms. Unfortunately, the room me and my partner stayed in was not... there were marks on the walls, cobwebs everywhere, paint peeling off the wall, stains running down the bathroom wall and the carpet was thread bare in some places. The duvet cover was a cheap one you get in holiday parks, the room was sparse and no"luxury" felt! We paid £140 for this room and have stayed in much better for far less... so a very disappointing stay and felt a bit sick that I'd parted with my hard earned cash. The meal we had was nice and the staff were friendly on a positive note but I wouldn't recommend staying here Unfortunately.
