The hotel is located on the Mississippi River in downtown Memphis. You can walk a few steps from the door to the bridge to the island, and it takes only ten minutes to walk to Beale Street. The Sheraton building is quite conspicuous and can be seen from a distance, so you don't have to worry about getting lost when you go out. The room is clean and tidy, and you can enjoy the river view and the pyramids by the large glass window.

This hotel is old and has no advantages except that it is close to the exhibition center.

The location is great and convenient to all the downtown happenings. The hotel staff were rude, unhelpful and to top it all off the air conditioning was out our entire stay. I asked to be moved to a different room to which the answer was no. Asked do they have fans for situations like this they said no. PLUS they charge my card twice for the room

My wife and I checked into the Sheraton early for a business event, expecting the basic courtesy of choosing a room with a king-size bed. Instead, we were assigned a room at the front desk without being asked about our preferences. To our surprise, we found out it had two twin beds, which is far from ideal for a couple. We immediately returned to the front desk to request any available room with a king bed. The staff refused to make the change. We even offered to wait for a king room to become available, but were told that “once you’re checked in, you’re checked in,” We can't help but wonder if this rigid treatment was due to the discounted event rate we booked under. Regardless, We expected better from a Sheraton.

Sheraton Hotel Memphis Downtown. My recent stay at the Sheraton was marred by a truly unfortunate experience involving the front desk manager African American young girl, if I’m not mistaken, her name begin with a J, it was about 9:30 pm. The manager was "Extremely RUDE”. Instead of a polite and helpful response, she was incredibly dismissive and rude. The manager was not interested in understanding the situation and communicated in a condescending and abrupt manner. "She abruptly interrupted me when I was explaining my request," This level of disrespect from a manager was shocking and deeply disappointing. It significantly impacted the overall experience at the hotel, leaving me feeling undervalued and upset. It is unfortunate, the room cleanliness was good. The following morning, Fredrick and Shawn were awesome. They were very professional and helpful.

Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel is a real pit! The internet is trash. I have to use my phone as a hotspot to receive a signal and it's a slow one at that! Not to mention there isn't a good phone signal either!! 19mbs today is a paltry speed. Should be 100 minimum. The chair backs in the bar are dirty from hands moving them in and out. There's paint peeling over the window in our room - probably got wet at some point? Two of the four main elevators are out of service. There are more elevators down the hall a piece. The rooms are livable. Clean, tidy but not as clean as my wife's standards. Two 'Full' size beds (I like queen). Bed skirt has black spots from someone's luggage bumping against it. The room next to us is vacant as is the one across from us. Both have door peep holes with no lens' in them, just an empty hole! We had maintenance replace the battery in the smoke alarm next door as it kept 'beeping' every minute. It's not like other Marriots we've stayed in. It's a worn out hotel. Pool was closed. Exercise room looked modern. Free laundry! Elevators are slow. We like to take the stairs, but sign says Emergency Exit Only - door locks behind you. They say the downtown area is good, but don't venture too far out from there at night.

Walking into the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel for my recent three-night stay in April 2025, I felt less than impressed. The person at the front desk seemed very uninterested, even distracted. “Can I help you?” she asked. When I got to my room, though, I found a kind note from the front desk staff welcoming me to the hotel and a couple of chocolates, which helped change my initial impression. I came to Memphis to see Graceland and the Lorraine Museum. I paid for my room out-of-pocket. The Sheraton Memphis Hotel, built in 1985, looks a bit dated and indeed in the lobby features pictures of future renovation plans. If you like to take a dip in a swimming pool, as I do, the pool is not open. As for the room, I slept in a comfortable bed, and I viewed a large 65” TV screen. The cable TV had lots of channels, a feature I like in a hotel. A large hotel, the Sheraton has a grand sweeping entryway outside. Beautiful trees line a plaza outside of yet another entryway. The friendly front desk man who helped me when I checked out said, “Oh, and I forgot to ask, how was your stay?” I appreciated his kindness. “I had a good stay,” I replied, and so it was.
