Big Cypress Lodge

Place was awesome and everything we expected, from eating at hamburgers at walley burgers to the skylift view and the indoor bowling alley. We only had one complaint. We purchased the buffet breakfast for $24 each and it was par at best. Wish we would have went to Denny's instead. Other than that it’s a fisherman’s paradise!

Top points: Leave your car unlocked and enjoy your stay. I mean both. The hotel itself is very nice. It is a very unique experience. Beautifully done. We stayed in a suite looking overlooking the inside of the pyramid. The detailing and the woodwork was amazing. The restaurant was subpar. We went up there to look around and then we decided to go somewhere else to eat. We could get twice the food for the same price in a really nice restaurant. I guess you pay for the experience. The hotel was clean and everybody was very friendly. But please, take note of this: leave your car unlocked and take all your valuables. We were told that they were not responsible for the security of vehicles in the parking lot of hotel guests. We had heard they had a problem with break-ins. Sure enough, the next morning our passenger side window was shattered, and there was glass all over the seat. We were traveling from Idaho to Florida and had to tape plastic bags across the window for the rest of the trip. They would do nothing to compensate. The very least they could do is have a secure parking lot for hotel guests. When you’re paying that much money for a stay at a unique hotel, you should get a secure place to park with security on guard. I would stay there again. But for the smash and dash of the car window and lucky for us, they took nothing because we had nothing of value in the car, the next time we go we will leave the car door unlocked so we can keep our windows intact.

We stayed in the Governor’s Suite and loved it! There was room from everyone and the dog. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the balcony. We enjoyed the store, the observation deck and The Lookout Restaurant. All the staff was very kind and helpful. We used the shuttle to go to Beale Street. Great service ❤️ They had a treat and sign for dog.

Our room was fantastic. Check-in was seamless. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the bellman, Jeffrey. Loved our view from our room. Shower was great.

Everything about our lodging was excellent. The room was pristine, the jet tub, shower, bed and bedding all top notch! Even the smell of the bedding was so pleasant. The decor and historic material were great too. The staff friendly and warm. Positive all the way around! We will be back!
