The hotel is in a great location in the town center, close to Melrose Abbey, a supermarket, and several bus stops, making it very convenient. The room had a bathtub, and there was plenty of hot water, which was a nice bonus. However, the building seems old, and there were creaking noises. When other guests walked down the hallway, the sound echoed into the room, and I could also hear conversations from the neighboring rooms.

Good location right in the heart of Melrose. Bedrooms adequate for this type of hotel. We had an evening meal there which was good, with live music & a bar. Overall good value for the money.

This is an old building, the room was really big which was good for a four night stay, the shower however had virtually no pressure, housekeeping gave us fresh towels, coffee, milk but didn't make the bed or empty the two waste bins. We decided to have drinks in the bar on Sun. evening but there was no staff to be found, even went to reception but there was no one there either so we went elsewhere. The breakfast was fine, the young girl Kara who served us every morning was a credit to the hotel, very friendly and helpful. The " residents "car park was always full, even though there was not that many people staying.

Had burger and fries. Cost £15 so expected a decent burger. It was thrown together with the poorest of quality ingredients. Service was poor too. Had to go up to the bar to order coffee as no one was around to collect our plates when we finished. Interrupted the waitress eating her pot noodle behind the bar. Terrible experience overall

Helpful staff. Hotel itself is in need of an upgrade as it is looking dated. If you are looking for an overnight stay you will find it fits the bill, but for a longer stay you may like a little more comfort.

An old hotel that looks like it has been extended a few times. We had a walm welcome and the staff were efficient. The room was a decent size. BUT the curtains failed to block out any light. I love to see a Scottish sunrise, but not at 4am. Especially as we had a hard day's walking. The restaurant was good for the price . I loved the breakfast, with good portions sizes. The staff were excellent in dealing with food allergies. I would have rated the hotel higher, but the lack of blackout curtains let it down.

In a town where food prices are steep I found the price and the quality of the food here excellent. The chilli chicken was magnificent Decent prices on the ales and ciders on tap too I have stayed here previously so know it was an affordable option

Stay was ok however tv didn’t work, bathroom was mouldy, shower was connected to bath taps so couldn’t get a comfortable heat. Breakfast was ok but bacon tasted a bit fishy? Staff were nice.
