Masseria Rauccio

Masseria Rauccio ★★★★

📍 Località Rauccio, Melendugno

"The Rauccio masseria.. a perfect mix of everything I wanted from my holiday in Salento. We stayed in a magnificent room: the fireplace suite and then since Salento stole our hearts, also in a deluxe, both classy. With me my boyfriend and my little Maltese girl. We had a perfect week!! The rooms furnished with a sophisticated style but at the same time with many typical elements such as Lecce stone, the infinity pool, the wonderful hydromassage tub on our terrace, the breakfasts and dinners with pasticciotti and orecchiette... Maximum marks for this a structure that boasts unique and well-kept rooms, a cuisine with typical local dishes and all the staff who made us experience a completely relaxing stay. See you soon 🤍"

"Given that we have been frequenting top-quality facilities in Italy and abroad for years, in our opinion this one still has a long way to go to reach 5 stars! Starting from the information on the site, some services described are not active and 100% usable. Some examples: champagne shop closed, main bar without a bartender and not active during the hours proposed by the site. Although the staff was friendly, courteous and helpful, making our stay pleasant, it was not enough to compensate for the lack of organization. As far as we are concerned, the only area that works in line with the 5 stars for service and products offered is breakfast! A special applause to Domenico and the girls.... Among the services that in our opinion are not up to 5 stars: - cleanliness of the rooms absolutely to be reviewed!!! Step only 1 time a day not too satisfying....let's use the broom a little more!! - reception often in trouble with unclear answers and little information, every request required a consultation and discussion with a referral to later or later etc... - excellent restaurant with excellent dishes both to the eye and to the palate, service a 10 only at Simona. We highly recommend a briefing during check-in to precisely describe the services offered inside and outside the facility, perhaps accompanied by a welcome cocktail. In the following days, walking around the facility, we learned where the swimming pools, spa, gym, etc. were... Not much the information on the beach service is also clear from the moment of booking. I also suggest providing an area for any changes of clothes on the occasion of arrival or departure (as happens in other structures, possibly the possibility of relying on the spa or a courtesy room) in order to avoid, as happened to us, having to open our suitcases upon arrival in the hall and change in the common bathrooms, or leave with sand on us! The structure potentially has all the characteristics to be at a high level but unfortunately it is not adequately supported by internal and external services. An oasis in the desert Finally, we thank Gianni for his availability and precision in the information and Leo who did everything to spoil us!"

"This hotel is so special for so many reasons! The architecture is amazing and you are surrounded by fantastic animals. There is a bbq with outdoor seating, a play structure for kids, a small but relaxing pool, fresh farm to table breakfast, fruits and vegetables growing all around, and so many exotic and farm animals. We wished we had stayed more days, the rooms were perfect and the atmosphere was magical. They also helped us find things to do in the area."

"I stayed at this B&B. The room had a tiny, rickety fridge with no space to put anything. No soap for the shower. The breakfast was TERRIFYING. A noise from outside kept me awake all night. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED."

Palma Residence Salento Hotels in Melendugno

Palma Residence Salento

"A perfect getaway right on a splendid beach! We went last weekend and were really pleased both with the residence and the kindness and availability of our hosts. The apartment was super cozy and extremely clean. There were little details that really make the difference between a good place and superior one. Palma residence is right across the street from a beautiful sea, only some 150mts from the center of the village, with plenty of places where to eat or takeaway. The suggestions the host gave us were excellent, great seafood and great pastries ❤️ And there is a great golf course 10’ away, we really enjoyed that too! I would really recommend it for either a short stay or as a base for touring the area, so much to see!"

Marelive - Cdshotels ★★★★
"We stayed at marelive and the end of may so although the area was a little quiet as it was just off season, we got more access to the area and the hotel. The rooms were lovely and light, very clean and having direct access to the pool was wonderful. The hotel is great as a base to explore the surrounding area or to spend time in as a pool day!. Breakfasts were excellent, especially the pasticciotti and the coffee We only ate dinner one night but we're very impressed with the meal , 4 courses for 35euro was very reasonable and delicious. All the staff were really attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The downsides are more to do with the time of year we visited, the neighbouring areas of Sant Andrea and Torre dell orso were not particularly lively, although this changed as the weekend arrived, Otranto however was very busy and only a 20 min drive away"

Masseria Borgo Sentinella ★★★★
"Borgo Sentinella is a undeniably stunning property with incredible physical potential, but the overall experience was ultimately let down by service shortfalls, operational friction, and restrictive dining policies. Pre-Arrival & Location Booking required a bit of patience—getting a response and securing a confirmation was a challenge, though the communications we did receive were very friendly. Reaching the Masseria is also tricky as map pins send you down confusing routes, and the property is surprisingly situated right off a major highway, which is an unusual location for a traditional Pugliese masseria. The Property & Accommodation Upon arrival, the estate itself is gorgeous, peaceful, and impeccably clean. We stayed in a suite rather than a standard room, which I highly recommend for privacy. While the interior space was compact, it was comfortable. The highlights were easily the private dip pool and the divine outdoor shower. During the daytime, the grounds are quiet and serene. However, be aware that in the evenings, the peace is often disrupted by loud music and microphone noise echoing from neighboring resorts—fine if you can tune it out, but disappointing if you are expecting silence on your terrace. Service & Hospitality Service was the biggest letdown of our stay. The staff are pleasant when you interact with them, but extremely hands-off and lacking basic luxury standards: Check-In & Local Tips: Unlike other properties in Puglia where you receive warm orientations and local recommendations for dining and tours, we were given no information. Unless you research everything in advance, don't expect guidance. Staff Coordination: The team felt understaffed and poorly trained. Kitchen staff struggled with basic details, repeatedly asking for a room number despite suites not having numbers. We were even incorrectly charged for a breakfast that was included in our rate, which required us to catch and correct the error. Departure: At check-out, it was simply "pay the bill and goodbye"—no offer to assist with luggage to the car or warm sign-off. Dining Constraints & Dietary Frustrations The food overall was okay at best, but the dinner setup is particularly frustrating for couples with different dietary needs. Dinners are structured strictly for two, with no option to order a single portion: Because my partner is vegetarian and I eat meat, I had to eat a full vegetarian meal the first night just to dine together. On another night, reception claimed we could order one vegetarian menu and one meat menu, but failed to mention this meant charging us for four meals (€140 instead of €70). Had I not double-checked, we would have been hit with a massive overcharge. If you or your partner have dietary differences or restrictions, I strongly suggest dining offsite. Overall Verdict Borgo Sentinella is a beautiful, picture-perfect backdrop with great private suites, but the hands-off service, lack of local hospitality, and inflexible dinin"

Posia Retreat & Spa Una Esperienze ★★★★★
"My husband and I traveled to Puglia in September 2024. Our trip began with two nights in Matera then on to the coast where we stayed at the Posia Retreat and Spa. We booked a Deluxe Room based on the sites’s inviting and simple photo . Unfortunately the room in reality was far less desirable with an industrial mostly concrete view. We upgraded at an additional $100 per night to a sea view room which was lovely. Important to note is that while the Posia boasts in its brochure of an outdoor heated infinity pool it is false advertising . In warm weather this is likely not an issue but in cooler weather in order to have access to its only on site heated pool , which is located in its spa , you have to pay an additional cost of $90 per person per day for that access. A room charge already at $500 a night with such an additional cost feels like “ nickel and diming” and is unbecoming of a property that would like to be viewed with elegance. Included breakfast was generous and staff was helpful."

"We have spent 6 beautiful days in Borgo Segine end of June 25. There's not much to add to all the enthusiastic comments of guests. You can feel that the hospitality of the entire team comes from the heart. It was a great pleasure to meet Borgo Segine . It is a place of soul, full of kindness and sun. Thank you, we'll be back."

"Fabulous place. Sometimes you see the listing and you wonder what exactly the property will be like. Well this one exceeded all expectations. The room was great. The pool was terrific. The breakfast was incredible as were the meals served in the restaurant. Extremely quiet. Very close to Otranto and great beaches. We would definitely return."

"I wanted to leave a special review by dedicating it entirely to the animation team. There are not really enough words to describe them: they are all beautiful, super available and with a nice creativity! They made our holiday magic, filling every day of joy and entertainment without ever being invading. On the day of my departure I cry rivers of tears; I already miss so much and it was really hard to greet such a united and special group. A special thanks goes to three people Rachel, Marco and Joseph. Thank you still are unique. ❤️"

Sound Garden Charming Rooms ★★★
"Location very recommended for those who want to spend a holiday in peace. Structure in a very well-treated garden, with a beautiful swimming pool, where you can listen to the "sound" of birds, chics, and wall cascade on board pool. The rooms are very clean and well-defined, with all comforts. The owners are very hospitality and gentle, as well as the ladies who serve breakfast. International breakfast served under a pergola almost on board the pool, with excellent quality products, A special mention goes to "pasticciotti", typical puglise sweets and toasts/cookies. The atmosphere is really relaxing!! Compliments!"
