Paragon Apartments by CLLIX Reviews

We booked a 1-bedroom apartment at Paragon Apartments via Agoda. On the morning of check-in, they offered us an upgrade to a 2-bedroom apartment for an additional fee, which we explicitly declined. Despite this, upon arrival we were told that they did not have the 1-bedroom apartment we originally booked, so we were placed in a 2-bedroom unit instead. There was no mention of additional charges at check-in, and no written or verbal agreement to any upgrade or fee. Inside the apartment, a small sign on the second bedroom door stated a charge would apply if used—but this was the only form of notice. After the stay, we were charged $100 for using the room that we were never supposed to be given in the first place. When we raised the issue, the manager was dismissive and told us to “go ahead and complain.” We are now in the process of submitting a formal complaint to Consumer Affairs Victoria under Australian Consumer Law, which prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct and requires transparent disclosure of all fees. We strongly advise others to be cautious when booking this property and we will update with the CAV outcome here.
