Port d'Hiver Bed and Breakfast

My husband and I stayed in Port D'Hiver B&B recently, September 2025. I'm completely in love with this B&B. We booked Walter's room for 3 nights. The room was spacious, but the bathroom is really tiny. It was not a problem for us. You have to understand that this B&B is really old building, so the floors will creak a little, some doors would not go easy with closing and opening, etc. I love old houses, I did not see any issues with that, but I understand that for some people it can cause small issues. The wrap around balcony is just gorgeous. View of the ocean, and such a lovely breeze. Mind you, this house sits right next to the road and there are power lines by the road. But the breeze... Did I mentioned the breeze? :-)) People working in there are just so accommodating, the service is excellent, we had breakfast delivered to our suite every morning, they ask for any dietary restrictions, just superb. There is a happy hour every day with free snacks and wine. And you can go to outside pantry for free snacks and water anytime, located together with beach towels in other building. Swimming pool, beautiful jacuzzi, small gym and firepit outside are just great amenities. Beach access is across the road. We did not go much to the beach or other places, because mainly, we came for business matters, but we really enjoyed our stay. Would we stay there again? ABSOLUTELY!!! Actually, we will have to travel to the area again, and I will book the same B&B with the same room. Thank you all, who work there and run the place, it was just so lovely to stay by your house. Our getaway to the Port d'Hiver Bed and Breakfast was a surprise birthday gift for my wife. We live on the Gulf Coast and had never been to Melbourne Beach. Everything about our visit was a delight! The Sunrise Room was perfect: cozy, quaint and with a beautiful ocean view. All of the amenities, like the hot tub, plunge pool, complimentary treats and comfy bathrobes were welcome and fun. Our trio of hostesses, Kaitlin, Lauren and Rachel were professional and courteous, at the same time being personable and friendly. The breakfast offerings were delicious and accommodating of dietary needs. As for the location, the beach was literally across the street, and a ten minute walk West got us to spectacular sunset views over the Indian River Lagoon. Just a fantastic experience, we are still thrilled, and hope to return again. Bravo, Port d'Hiver

The wife and I decided to take a last minute staycation and I have to tell what a great choice! We were assisted by the amazing staff and gave us a great recommendation on a last minute room over July 4th! The room was amazing, clean and very comfortable. We ended up staying 4 days and each day was great. The breakfast was superb and 2 of the mornings we had breakfast delivered to the room… Breakfast was hot and was top notch. The snack room had refreshing beverages and snacks to munch on. I have to say when you walk into this place you get to shut out all the business of the world outside! You will not be disappointed in this BnB! It is a secret get away in a small town! And the entire staff smile and are happy! Perfect staycation, thank you!!

Everything about it is an amazing experience. The management and the staff could NOT be Nicer. We love them all. The fresh cookies all day anytime is fabulous. Our room is always spotless. The landscape is so beautiful you feel like your at an island resort with all the privacy you need. It's peaceful and quiet . It's the most relaxing vacation we take. We now visit every year. 5 times so far. And our most favorite is the breakfast sampler platter from the chef. We can't say enough about the food. Thank you Port di hiver for our favorite vacation every time.

A wonderful stay. Staff very friendly and willing to help any way they can. Breakfast was very good and enjoyed in their beautyful courtyard. Ocean views from room Diane was very nice. Good food at Melbourne Beach Market across the street, deli, pizza, pasta and more. Great selection of beers and wine. Would definitely go again.

This is what I wrote to Proprietor “Thank you so much for the marvelous experience you provided as we celebrated our parents 70th wedding anniversary at Port D’Hiver. First of all, we want to say a really big thank you to Lauren, who made sure that everything was taken care of as had been prearranged. Lauren, you are an asset to the establishment. Your pleasant demeanor and can-do spirit immediately set the tone for the remarkable experience that we had. The way you treated us, and in fact, the way you treated the other people who worked with you was awe-inspiring. Kindness, care, and enthusiasm are words we choose to describe the way you approached our important celebration. We felt so well cared for and knew that anything we asked for would be responded to quickly and positively. Not that we needed to ask for anything! Everything was perfect. Our rooms were beautiful and clean and remade every day. The breakfasts were delicious and served with pride and care. The folks who ran the happy hour did so with good cheer and positivity. The entire place was clean and beautiful. Steve clearly takes pride in the landscaping that he does as well. We felt that we were in a perfect little cloister. Everyone who made the place tick did so in ways that were unobtrusive. The hot tub and pool were clean as a whistle. All the extras that we ordered were delivered when and where and we arranged are wereof the high-quality promised. The fresh flowers were gorgeous. The chocolate covered strawberries delicious. Obviously, I can’t say enough good things about our experience. You made our occasion so special and exactly as we wanted it to be. Thank you so much for making us so comfortable and happy. We had the most memorable and wonderful 70th wedding anniversary celebration for my parents. It was exactly what we had hoped for. You made this an incomparable time and facilitated our making memories together that we will cherish always. Thank you so much.
