Great location. Very friendly and nice staff. Rooms were neat and clean. Food was also really good. Overall great experience and will definitely recommend everyone.

Positive: Good location (near the valley station), size of the room, WiFi and TV worked. Negative: Nearly no german speaking, not so clean, very old building. Breakfast buffet: Miserable for the price of Fr. 54.00 for 2 adults and 1 child (14 years). For this price you can expect something different. Orange- and multivitamin juice very watery and without pulp (probably from the tetra pack). Meat/cheese buffet: the same types every day (ham, meatloaf, salami, cheese slices, brie, cu-cumber and tomato slices). Quality of the ham: Cheapest variety (pizza ham) from the vacuum pack. Salami and cheese are also the cheapest products from the supermarket. Salami may have been in the fridge for several days. Fruit salad is a finished product from a can (not fresh); possibly also in the refrigerator for several days. Complaints communicated in writing; was ignored and not answered. Conclusion: Never again (there are enough hotels in Meiringen that are rated much better and are not more expensive).

The guest card was not provided. The breakfast was OK, but below the standard of most Swiss hotels.
Tiny kettle in room, but no cups or teabags. When we asked for these,the request was ignored.

Cannot believe such a poor and out-dated hotel is that price even if considering premium over-charged in Switzerland.

The theme of Sherlock Holmes.
Clearly the new owners don't even understand/ care about Sherlock Holmes.
The rooms were average. With nice views.
Very hot no AC. Booked renting an apartment but told we can't eat in the room, though there's a table and chairs in the room.
Breakfast was 7-9 though when booking was to 10:30.
The hrs that are posted for front desk changed daily, most often no one there. The phone in room was plugged in but no dial tone. Couldn't call front desk. Was told what table we could and couldn't eat at breakfast. Tried the restaurant for dinner and had to leave. Was ignored other than to have them tell us both tables we sat at were reserved. But no sign said that. Then sat at other table and was ignored. For 15 min no one even looked at us. So left. Sad, as it has potential.

Everything was great with the hotel... except AVOID the restaurant. The food was fine, but it was 2x the price it should have been. For $30 swiss francs, I got a plate of mostly rice with a little chicken tikka on top. I also had to pay extra for naan which was not fresh. We were the only people in there and there no chance they made everything we ordered from scratch based on how fast it came.
