"The four double rooms are located in annex buildings. Our room had a covered terrace overlooking the garden. The garden is located on the edge of a vineyard. There are sun loungers by the pool and a bench under a canopy. The room has air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The double bed is a comfortable width and has a selection of soft pillows. There is one parking space per room in the garden. Hand and shower gel and body lotion are provided in the bathroom. +Fridge, capsule machine, kettle. Breakfast was freshly prepared. The safe in the cupboard was not secured and therefore useless. Just a note: the owners have two quiet dogs."

Montagu Country Hotel ★★★★

"While the Montagu Hotel has potential, our experience didn’t match the photos. The reception was unfriendly, and the room had a strong cleaning product smell with dirty carpets. We decided not to stay due to these factors. Montagu itself is charming, but on a Friday afternoon, it was hard to find open places for coffee or food. The cold weather didn’t help, and the duvets and blankets were thin and old. The hotel’s condition, compared to the online photos, was disappointing, and overall, we left feeling let down."

"The Grand Hotel proved to be the ideal two night stopover between Knysna and Cape Town. The food in their restaurant was excellent as were the breakfasts. There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms but the fan helped to keep the temperature bearable. The hotel was quiet and well maintained with a sheltered pool and loungers under umbrellas."

"Our 3rd annual visit to Gubas for the VRL golf weekend. Each visit we are treated like Royalty. Nothing is too much for our hosts, including making breakfast for 12 men at 6am. The venue is ideally situated in town. Each room is perfect in every way. Oh and the breakfast. No word to describe it, apart from sensational. A feast just right to start the day. The hosts are super. The staff are super. The venue outstanding"
