Riad Sable Chaud

Pros: The kitchen and cleaning ladies were lovely! In fact, the cleaning lady (I don't remember her name) gave us some souvenirs. Very sweet indeed! The gentleman who initially served us was also friendly. Super quiet riad at night, located in a quiet area, where only motorbikes pass by and is about 20 minutes from Jemaa El Fna Square. Our room was ……… no windows facing the street, just one facing into the Riad. Great wifi in the room. Good AC. The sofas on the terrace were nice. Cons: The gentleman (I think his name is Momo) seemed quite friendly, but he was a real gold digger, especially in the way he tried to sell the excursions/tours. He denounced himself in many different ways: first he tried to sell us his absurd prices, then when they lowered them he made us believe that he had lowered them so much that he would not get any commission, telling us that since we were neighbors and earned little, the Portuguese and Spanish would give us good prices, while those from other countries would happily pay their list price. Even so, they were far more expensive than on Get Your Guide and similar sites. Then everything turned bad in his mouth and he said that good reviews were paid to people to give high ratings. But not his!! In his activities they would come to the door of the Riad to pick us up, in the others they wouldn't... and so we couldn't have breakfast (already paid for) at the Riad because it was early. A big lie! They didn't even pick us up at the Riad and we still waited forever for the driver. We cancelled the second activity with him and he was clearly upset, he wasn't even interested in asking us if everything went well with the activity he sold! Coincidence or not, the internet thing worked and in the end they got that attention. Breakfast was weak and small in quantity, we always had to ask for more. Plus, all the food was heated up, including the bread! The tea wasn't much. The pool inside did not have good colored water. The pool on the terrace is a hoax from the photos, it looks like a small fountain…and no water! It's simply no use!

Mooie riad, leuk ingerichte kamers met goede bedden. Het ontbijt was prima, heel basic maar elke dag iets anders. Vriendelijk personeel, alleen de manager Mohammed was echt zeer onvriendelijk! Gaf geen advies of tips, wilde alleen dat we zo snel mogelijk de toeristenbelasting betaalde. Erg jammer! Het zwembadje is ook alleen ter decoratie, het water was vies.

Our room was the "superior double room" it had no windows to the street, only one to the inside of the Riad. - Great wifi in the room. - Good AC. - The sofas on the terrace were nice. Cons: - I emailed the Riad to confirm the reservation, as I booked through Trip.com, and they never responded until I got there on the day. - The gentleman (I think his name is Momo) seemed quite friendly, but he turned out to be a real gold digger when he wanted to sell us the tours/excursions through him. The only interest was to sell! The way and faces he made when he lied completely gave him away! Yes, he lied a lot and we hate being lied to! First he tried to sell us their absurd prices, then when he lowered them he made us believe that he had no commission. He said that the Portuguese and Spanish have little money and those from other countries paid the list prices without saying anything! Even so, they were far more expensive than Get Your Guide and the like. Then it became an excuse that these weren't good! Then it was time for good comments to be bought! But not his!! During his activities they came to the Riad's door to pick us up, during others' activities they didn't. If we didn't book with them, we weren't entitled to breakfast, as we left early and had to go to a meeting point outside the Riad. His began in the Riad. A big lie! They didn't even pick us up at the Riad and we still waited endlessly for the driver. We canceled the second activity with him and he was clearly upset, he wasn't even interested in asking us if everything went well with the activity he sold! Coincidence or not, the internet one worked and in the end they got that attention. Therefore, this man was too intrusive, self-interested and overcame us with tiredness with an activity we booked with him (good thing it was just one, he wanted to sell us 3!) - Weak breakfast and little quantity, we always had to ask more. Furthermore, the food was all heated, including the bread! - The tea wasn't much. - The swimming pool inside did not have good colored water. The pool on the terrace is a deception from the photos, it looks like a small fountain… and without water! It simply serves no purpose!

Nous avons été accueillis par une très belle équipe composée de Saïda, Fatima et Momo! Chacun a fait de son mieux pour que nous nous sentions comme à la maison! Momo a été de très bons conseils pour les visites, tarifs et mise en relation avec d’autres prestataires… Les petits déjeuners sont copieux et différents chaque matin. Il est possible de réserver le dîner, les plats sont délicieux (excellent couscous). Il faut emprunter plusieurs petites ruelles pour se rendre au Riad, et avoir un bon sens de l’orientation les premiers jours 🤣 mais il est placé au cœur de la vieille ville typique, dépaysement total assuré!! Bien qu’il nous arrivaient de rentrer parfois tard, jamais nous nous sommes sentis en insécurité! Il faut compter une 20aine de minutes à pied pour aller à la place jemaa el fna et 5 minutes en taxi. The riad is somewhat remote, in small alleys, I was there with my sister and we did not feel safe in the evening. The concierge was also not pleasant, we thought we had not booked any excursions with him, so he did not want to give us breakfast when we had been on an excursion for 2 days, he simply said you should book with us! Breakfast was calculated, was not sufficient. But the cleaning and kitchen staff were very sweet, very friendly. The room was tidy thanks to the cleaning lady, but our shower rod was broken, not so pleasant to shower.
