Property Description
Our cabin is 20 years old. It was built by the original owner who was a carpenter and the owner of a mill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are over the top. If you appreciate woodwork you’ll love our cabin. Fishing on the lake offers pike, walleye, perch and bass to name a few. A couple of years ago someone caught a 47” inch pike (at least this is what I’m told.) Indoor cleanliness was ok, had to unclog the bathroom sink as it wouldn't drain. Shower door bottom had a fair amount of mold. Removed hair from the kitchen sink drain that was under the basket strainer. Cleaned the picture windows and sliding glass door that were dirty inside and out. Outside had to clean the deck and stairs down to the lake. Replaced half the string lights that were burned out. A few solar lights were out or missing on the stairs making a nightime walk a bit touchy. I really didn't think I would have to do so much work cleaning up even though we received a little off the cost for a last minute reservation. Ok, done complaining. The overall place and property is beautiful. Took a kayak out around the island that was enjoyable. First night saw the northern lights, that was great. Haven't seen them in over 50 years. Didn't try the sauna but it looks good down by the lake. Complete quiet at night, not even a sound from bugs. Very relaxing with food and things to do close by. Would definitely recommend.

Visiting our son in Marquette, MI My Finnish wife enjoyed the sauna. We also enjoyed having lots of campfires each night. We hope to come back soon.

Northern Beauty A truly stunning retreat—private, serene, and idyllic. It offered such tranquility that departing was genuinely difficult.

Spacious cabin on the lake The cabin is far larger than the photos make it look, we had 7 adults with plenty of space. It was well furnished and in a gorgeous remote setting. The weather was rainy and cold during our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the sauna or a bonfire but the amenities looked like they would have been amazing to use! The only downfall is that there’s only one bathroom but even with 7 people we never ran out of hot water in the shower. Beds were cozy, cabin was clean and smelled great, there were plenty of things to do and the host was super easy to work with!! Definitely would stay here again if in the area! Were in the UP for NMU graduation and it was only 15minutes from the school, perfect, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, homey location. Highly recommended!!!

Great stay No complaints at all, Ed was a very communicative and accommodating host. The cabin is stocked like you wouldn't believe, especially the kitchen. Everything is high-quality. If I were investing in improvements, I'd put in a smart thermostat.

Absolutely Lovely Stay in the Great Up North My husband and I were missing the UP after moving so to revisit, see some old friends, and enjoy the great outdoors with some paddleboarding and kayaking was much needed. The Ed was courteous and the cabin was incredible. A++++

Business trip that included a peaceful respite from the day As usual, great communication from Ed. Cabin cleaners were running a little behind but Ed let us know so we weren’t sitting at the property waiting around to get in. Great sauna, great fishing, peaceful outdoor spaces.
