Shenandoah House

We stayed here for one night as we were visiting Dreamland for a concert. Very well located and only about a ten minute walk in to Margate with a Tesco Express very nearby and near to the sea. On arrival lovely Jim very friendly and helpful was there to greet us. Nice clean good sized room with all you need. Very homely vibe about the place. Had a slight sea view from the front window. Very quiet despite a few people staying here. Good breakfast provided by Jim in the morning cooked or cereal fruit and toast all you need really. Jim was very helpful throughout our stay and we will definitely be back to stay again in the future.

Very clean and convenient for the centre and beach. Nice owner and excellent breakfast. Would definitely reccomend.

The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. They provided us with a cooked breakfast as well as a selection of cereals. Shenandoah House about 5 minutes walk from the beach and is close to local shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also within walking distance to the Turner Gallery and Dreamland. Good staying safe environment I spend 2 nights with my family the room was a good size and comfortable. My children enjoyed sleeping time. The room was however noisy being on the side of the main road. The view was great with the sea just a stone throw away. I had to personally asked for the WiFi connection on the second day. I needed for my kids lessons online. The location was good with Tesco close by. But it’s quite a walk to the town centre. The cost is affordable as a bonus Overall was a good stay.

Great location Very friendly staff , Laura and Jim made us feel very welcome. Room very clean and comfortable and has all you would need for a short break. The area is really nice , it’s in a busy road but did not bother us . Very conveniently located to Margate main sands - will definitely staff again.

Jim saved the beginning of our holiday! We were going on the ferry from Dover the following day and the accommodation let us down. Luckily the family room at Shenandoah House became available on a booking site and we spotted it. I telephoned to double check availability and Jim was helpful and friendly immediately. When we arrived we were able to park around the corner (the streets around are very safe). The whole guest house smelled beautifully clean, the room was spacious with a double bed, bunk beds for the children and an en-suite. All of the linen, towels and the entire room were spotless. It looked out over the front and down to the sea. Our children can talk the hind legs off a donkey and he was very patient and kind. He even gave them a guided tour of the garden. Very convenient location close to the beach, we walked in to Margate town which only took 15 minutes. The beach was full of day trippers from London, having a great time, playing music and dancing. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stay for breakfast, but he packed apple slices and giant cookies for the children to eat on the way to Dover in the car. What a lovely stay! We were so relieved. We will definitely visit again. Five stars all round 🌟
