Sunday night stay for less than £70 was a good price for the area. Typical chain type hotel but in a nice old building. You check-in at the bar and most of the rooms are upstairs. You can add breakfast and dinner but we chose to eat elsewhere. Bedroom has a full size bath, good wardrobe and hot drink making facilities but no fridge.

A lovely old inn in a picturesque village. The staff were all friendly and helpful, our room was large and comfortable with amazingly creaking floorboards (well it is an old building), and the servicing of the room every day made a nice change from some of the more penny-pinching chains. It's a "Greene King" establishment so has a good selection of their house drinks. The breakfasts were well cooked, and there was a good help-yourself continental selection too. We had 2 evening meals during our stay, and despite an unfortunate, and temporary, absence of one menu item (which I was particularly looking forward to having) we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Would we stay there again ? Definitely.

Gorgeous old building which is a lot bigger than it looks. Our room was lovely and spacious, clean had character. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and reasonable. Only downside was the Danish selection at breakfast. On the menu it stated a lot more than what was available on both mornings unfortunately. There was a fire alarm during the night and staff handled the situation professionally and sent an email apologising after our stay. These things happen and despite it being cold outside, it’s no one’s fault. Would definitely recommend and if we are ever in the area again would stay there without question,

Our first visit. We gad a lovely welcome. And had help with our cases. Our room is lovely and clean. Tea and coffee supplied Our bed is so comfortable lovely pillows. We had anevening meal, which was absolutely beautiful. The staff are amazing. Thank you everyone involved

A really lovely place. Nice beer garden / terrace with good sun that lasts fairly late. Food is outstanding, beer is great. Really impressed. The room was good with a comfy bed and was really well presented and tidy. It’s a nice mix of pub/guest house/restaurant.

The hotel is located in a quiet village. Inside it has many nice period features. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The bar area is relaxed and food is well prepared and offers good options. Food and wine were reasonably priced. Rooms are well equiped and of a good size.

A beautiful hotel . It had a lovely outdoor area, great food and great rooms in a very lovely setting . We had a lovely time here with friends . The complain I have is that the staff were miserable , one waitress dropped a tray of drinks over us and never cleaned it up . We were the only ones left in the pub at 21.30 , so we asked if it was ok if we sat in the bar for a while , we were met with a hostile staff member who obviously wanted to get home , so we felt forced to go to bed at 21.30 !
