La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury, Relais & Châteaux

We had a very enjoyable 2-night stay at La Fonda Heritage Hotel which was elegant and modern with a charming history. Our spacious room overlooked the plaza and the service throughout was absolutely wonderful. It was lovely having cocktails on the rooftop deck with views overlooking the city. Our dinner was fabulous on the outdoor private patio with live Spanish guitar music playing in the background. We highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant! Carrie O

The staff will strive to please, especially concierge Ana, whose warm and delightful personality and recommendations made our stay in Marabella most pleasant and memorable. I also loved the beach...just a short walk from the hotel! Marabella itself is beautiful and stylish so staying at La Fonda is the perfect complement!

Fabulous hotel. Room very elegant and quiet with comfortable bed. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant served one of the better meals of our entire two week vacation in Spain. Location in the heart of the old town couldn’t be more perfect.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was outstanding. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. On the day we were leaving, they even prepared a little snack box for our 2-year-old—without us even asking—which was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast in the charming patio was a real highlight, and the breakfast team were just as wonderful—so kind and attentive. Our room was beautiful, spacious, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended, and the location in the heart of the historic centre is simply perfect

This was one of the best hotel experiences our family ever had. We were hesitant to stay in “old town” and not on the beach in Puerto Banus but we were so glad that we did! We are a family of five with three kids in their teens. We stayed in room 30 known as “Oliva” house which is a sprawling single family home with three stories and a roof deck all to our own. We had a living room, kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, a garden, and a room deck! It was simply incredible. All right there in old town among the shops and bars. Truly a unique experience. And the service at La Fonda was incredible. The hotel had great food and a roof deck with live music every night! We highly recommend this place.

Check in was smooth and Matteo was warm and helpful, as well as helpfully assisting us with reservations and with an issue we experienced at checkout. The room is tastefully decorated and furnished. Shower has good pressure. Location is brilliant. Some minor issues which could further improve this great hotel and its offering. Towels look worn - could be fluffier and fresher. Bath mat was yellowed. As space can be limited in the rooms, simple touches like hooks on the back of doors could be useful for hanging etc At breakfast, food at the buffet is of a very small variety, especially for vegetarians, but quality is good. The a la carte options could be of a higher standard. On the first day, my French toast were uncooked, were cold, with the eggy liquid still raw. My husband’s eggs were not over easy as requested, and seemed in need of more oil as they looked quite dry. On the second day, it took a long time for our egg order to come through even though we were initially the only ones at breakfast. The highlight however is the courtyard setting which is peaceful and cool (before the heat of the day), as well as the friendly and attentive staff. I think the turndown service is around 5-6pm - at least that’s when housekeeping came on the two days we were there. But this is too early - it would be better for them to come during late evening when everyone is at dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. So much so that we wish we had stayed at the prior hotel for fewer nights so that we could have stayed at La Fond longer. Would recommend.
