Mountain Treasure Bed and Breakfast

Like staying in a friend's home. This is a non-fusy B&B. The only fuss was Agnes making sure your stay was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. It even had a TV. In the evening, Agnes provided us with delicious jelly donuts. Breakfast was outstanding. We were given a choice of blueberry muffins, waffles or eggs and bacon. Each breakfast was served with a parfait of yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. This location is close to Windham. If we were in the area, we would definitely stay there again.

The location is beautiful if you want to experience update New York in the fall. The host is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Her recommendations made the trip better. And breakfast was great. The rooms are quaint and clean with soundproof walls..

We were here Labor Day weekend. Agnes and her husband Jan could not have been better hosts. It is quaint and charming, not fancy, but designed with intention to be hospitable and make you feel like you are "home." The beds and linens were very comfortable which is very important and the fire pit is amazing place to meet others and star gaze. Agnes even let me follow her around her garden while she was gathering tomatoes and herbs for the morning breakfast (there were three choices, but I had a yogurt parfait, followed by eggs from the chickens on sight and tomatoes and basil straight from the garden). She was also very helpful in recommendations of restaurants and things to do. We cannot wait to go back!

We love this B & B! It is pretty and peaceful and the beds are very comfortable. But the breakfasts are simply fantastic. Fresh eggs and produce from Agnes’ garden, and baked goods from her kitchen make breakfast fun. And Agnes herself is delightful, and warmly welcomes you to her beautiful home. We’ll be back!

If I were to run a bed-and-breakfast, I would want to run it the way the proprietor runs Mountain Treasure. She treats you the way she would want to be treated. From the creatively decorated rooms, to the cozy breakfast nook, to the delicious breakfasts she prepares, the proprietor truly treats you as a special guest. I stayed at Mountain Treasure, in July 2025 after my hike down the Kaaterskill Falls. I stayed in the American Room and used both the tub and massage chair after my hike. The bed was comfy. The AC worked well (I also opted for fresh air one night). I sat in the backyard and enjoyed the mountain views and quiet ( passing cars didn’t disturb the peace much). The best thing was definitely the delicious breakfasts made with eggs from the on-site chickens! Scrambled one morning and in a veggie frittata the next. I requested gluten-free-friendly selections and my breakfast came with gluten-free toast. The coffee was also delicious. I highly recommend Mountain Treasure and am considering returning in fall to enjoy a stay in a different season. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
