Tulemar Resort

We booked 5 nights at the Tulemar at the end of touring holiday of Costa Rica. We wanted sun, beach and relaxation with a few gentle activities. We chose to stay in Casita Panorama for the view and it’s spaciousness for 2 people. We had a really wonderful stay. Travelling down from the beautiful Cloud Forest the change in vibe, and temperature!, were the first things to hit us. The welcome was warm particularly from Orlando our concierge who had already been in touch with me and booked a few restaurants etc. The apartment had a fantastic wrap around view which could be seen from the bedroom as well as the living room/kitchen and of course the balcony. We were not overlooked at all which was so relaxing. I think my favourite time of the day was waking up early and watching the day start over the Pacific Ocean - listening to the dawn chorus of the howler monkeys!! Though the sunsets are also spectacular. We loved the beach - there are beds, umbrellas, body boards and you can order drinks and food. It’s quite idyllic. The food in the Tule cafe is very good but we enjoyed the opportunity to visit other restaurants for breakfast abc supper and do a little bit of shopping! Orlando’s recommendations for special meals, Ronny’s Place and Gabriella’s were spot on and both had great food and amazing sunsets. Orlando contacted us every am to see how we were, when we wanted housekeeping to come, etc etc. There was a small problem with a leak in the roof of our balcony, and be arranged for us to have a free breakfast to compensate us for the slight inconvenience. We visited the Sukia Park for the butterfly house and the crocodile Centre and we did the on-site sloth tour with Ellie which was excellent. We saw sloths, monkeys, lizards, and on our penultimate morning 2 macaws flew across. The free shuttle bus service which you can order from your room or from various parts of the resort really worked well as the resort is on a very steep incline- and they made getting back from the beach a doddle. Highly recommended!

One of the best trips we’ve ever taken!! The house was incredibly comfortable and beautiful, with an amazing view!! The monkeys, sloths and gorgeous birds kept us entertained. It was my favorite beach ever. The water temperature was perfect and the combination of sun and shade made it comfortable for everyone. The best part of the trip, without a doubt, was the service! Chris, our concierge, and his staff treated us like royalty from the minute we arrived! Chris even made a special trip to get medicine my husband needed. They made my birthday a real party!! I can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing time at 114! The ocean view was breathtaking, and the service was excellent. We saw a lot of incredible wildlife during our stay. The location is perfect—close to the national park and several great restaurants. We highly recommend staying at Tulemar and can’t wait for our next visit!

Heaven on earth. We have been coming to Tulemar every year for five years. It never disappoints! The properties are gorgeous and the staff top notch. This year we stayed at Casa de Frutas , which was simply exceptional. Our concierge, Chris, along with Yadi, Oscar, and Tony, made our stay absolute perfection.

Everything about this resort is amazing, including our concierge, Miguel, and the rest of staff! The Tule Cafe, pools, private beach, and animals (so many monkeys on our balcony and mama and baby sloth 20 ft above us several times)!!!! I do not regret the price of our bungalow—it’s the coolest place we’ve ever stayed and we’ve been on some nice vacations. Highly recommend!

Great resort. Staff is friendly and always welcoming and good at their jobs. Rooms and property are clean. The Cafe/bar by the pool was very good. Juan, the bartender, was especially engaging and knowledgeable about the area. My husband enjoyed talking about the fishing in CR with Juan. Shuttle cans were always available for transportation on the property. We'd definitely stay here again.
