Stayed here for the weekend & enjoyed it immensely.The setting is idyllic,within walking distance to the local pub & around Rutland Water. Very friendly owner & nothing was too much trouble.Facilities in the cottage we’re great & we had everything we needed.The beds & bedding were lovely,comfortable & warm.We spent a lovely day in Stamford,had a cruise on the water & explored the farm shop & garden centre just up the road from Broccoli Bottom.Much needed rest & relaxation.

Carrot Cottage & Parsnip Place. Fantastic long weekend staying as a family at Broccoli Bottom. Really relaxing in peaceful surroundings. Lovely clean accommodation ideal for all age groups. Great for visiting Rutland and surrounding areas. Walkable to view the Ospreys at Lyndon Reserve. We will definitely be back. Thank you Amanda and Sally.

We had a wonderful week’s stay in Parsnip Place which is kitted out with everything you could need and with a lovely private garden. Manton is brilliantly located for things to do both close by and further afield. Our favourite was catching the train from Oakham to Leicester to visit the Richard III centre which was absolutely fascinating. We topped off the visit with an authentic curry. Sally is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend and hope to visit again. It’s the 4th visit for my husband.

We had an amazing stay at the carrot cottage, the silence of the country side did us good. The cottage was clean and well organised fully stocked with all essentials plus. It’s got a beautiful front yard with large table and chairs. Cottage was comfortable and cosy, definitely recommend. The Rutland area is fantastic for family’s with kids, many things to do all a short 5 min drive from Broccoli cottage.

My husband and I took a last minute three day break to celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary staying in Lettuce Lodge studio. We couldn’t have chosen better. A beautiful clean, spacious cottage with a well equipped kitchen, massive very comfortable bed, good bathroom with an excellent shower and our own secluded west facing patio where we took in a few evening rays. Very convenient car parking outside the front door, adjacent to a couple of self catering apartments. Pots of well looked after plants and flowers added to our already happy vibes. A reasonably walkable trek to the nearest pub for a bite to eat, although we took the car as easy parking. Perfect place to visit the stunningly beautiful area with Rutland Water easily walkable. Plenty of excellent eateries. Super garden centre nearby serving great food.

The property was ideal for a school girl reunion, wonderful location in easy walking distance of a pub serving good food. Cottages were beautifully appointed and our hosts were incredibly helpful. It made for a lovely experience for our group., thoroughly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Broccoli Bottom. We stayed in Fennel Folly for a few nights, and it was a lovely home from home. The lambs and sheep were friendly neighbours in the adjacent fields, and the owners were accommodating and cheery. (The owner and her co-worker made a terrific double act!) We cycled round Rutland Water, not knowing what to expect. It’s not as flat (or as consistently paved) as you might expect, and it was rather muddy in places, but the views are attractive, and it’s an enjoyable and challenging (but not too arduous) day out. For food, the local pub in Manton is good, and Uppingham is great for the bakery and for fish and chips.
