The Inn on Storrs

We were booked to stay at the hotel but chose to leave when we were greeted by the smell of urine in the hallway, damp in the bedroom and double beds that seemed smaller then standard doubles. The hotel attendant was not helpful. Trip.com attempted to get our money refunded but was unsuccessful. We had not seated the night and paid a lot more because of the short notice elsewhere.

The room was great value and close to UCONN. Good location near shopping and restaurants. Room was clean, bathroom was clean. Friendly staff. Lots of parking. Our only complaint was a very strong cleanse smell in the hallway outside of our room.

This was our second time staying at the Inn at Storrs.l, and will stay again. We were in town for a family holiday and needed a place to stay for the overnight. The Inn at Storrs checked all boxes as the room was clean and beds were comfortable. The location is convenient - with several shopping centers adjoining the hotel, close to the highways and near several walking trails. Even the free breakfast provided a quick cup of coffee, muffins, pastry, and cereal - just enough to get you out and about. There are several other restaurants nearby for a more substantial meal. The staff was friendly and helpful. At half the price (or more) of the other hotel by UConn this is a great option if you just need a place to stay after being out and about.

To be fair, I stayed here 2m ago & it was better. Not a great stay this time. Firstly the bait & switch, ******* advertised the room available for $121/night but then charged $150/night on the payment side(tax separate). Our rooms keys did not work for some reason, had them changed 4 times to finally work (thats a lot of inconvenience for just a 2 night stay). The sound proofing in the rooms is nonexistent. It felt like I was sitting at the table, a part of the conversation with the family next door. I could even hear the telephone conversation of the person on the other end! Then the nonstop stomping from the room above after they checked in close to midnight. Turned on the AC & it was so loud, I thought I would need to turn it off to be able to sleep. Left it on anyway, but it didnt seem to work. The room was hot anyway. Beds are not too comfortable. The fitness rm is tiny & not much usable. The pool gas a toxically high amount of chlorine in it. The eyes/nose sting to just enter the pool area. Otherwise, all was ok. The room was clean, microwave & fridge worked, staff was nice.
