My stay at the Inn at Maritime Bay, an Ascend Collection Hotel, was a huge letdown compared to my visit a year and a half ago when it was clean and pleasant. This time, the property was in poor condition—filthy windows, smelly hallways with carpets desperately needing cleaning, and overflowing trash bins outside. The rooms were just as bad, with yellowed, sweat-stained pillows, dirty exterior windows, and no housekeeping unless specifically requested. What the heck? Regardless of a hotel’s style or price, cleanliness is non-negotiable. I addressed my concerns with the front desk, but their indifference suggested a lack of care. Apparently nobody is trying here. I won’t be returning.

We stayed one night. Very pleasantly surprised. Fresh place with decent decor. Had a lake view room. The window is small and it is a side view, bite nice. Room was large and comfortable. Nice carpet. Bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was decent. Included egg and sausage burritos. Location right on the lake is nice.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. Perhaps it has been renovated but much more work is urgently needed, including repair of the main elevator in this three-story hotel. There was a sign on it that said "sorry for ANY inconvenience" (emphasis added). The elevator outage should have had a repair crew working on it because that should be handled as an emergency. We had a room on the second floor and had a lot of luggage. The only other elevator we found was at the rear of this large, sprawling complex and it smelled musty. Many of the windows were clouded, including a pane of glass above the pool that looks as if it had a hole in it and the rest was shattered and potentially ready to fall onto swimmers below. That said, our room was comfortable, clean and had a nice view. And it was a fantastic place to go after a ride of the car ferry from Ludington, Michigan. Unfortunately, downtown Manitowoc doesn't have as many bars and restaurants as we expected so even though it is walkable to downtown, selections are limited.

This place was super nice. When we stayed, midweek, the place was nearly empty. I don’t know why this place isn’t fully booked all the time. Great price, great location! We really enjoyed our stay. I would have liked more breakfast choices but we were satisfied. They graciously allowed an early check-in. My son enjoyed the pool, which was very nice. I’d stay there again!

Clean room and helpful, patient staff. Very handy if you're getting on the USS Badger ferry. There are no fast food places nearby so it would be nice if they served breakfast, for those who are not into sit-down places so early in the morning.

My husband and I took the Badger from Ludington to Manitowic Wisconsin for our anniversary. We walked from the ship to our hotel located just across the river. They recently renovated the hotel. My only complaint may be the shower and toilet. Shower/ tub was smaller and the toilet was not an elongated seat and was older. We had a drink at the pub and the service was excellent as was the front desk staff. Our bartender suggested great restaurants and little did we know till she offered to drive us 2 days later to the ship, she is the GM! We would definitely return to this hotel!

1. Pool was nice 2. Room was clean 3. Stayed for 2 days, room was NOT cleaned between days 4. Towels were NOT changed between days of stay 5. Beds were comfortable 6. Breakfast was Bread, cereal, yogert, and a bad burito to warm up in a microwave. 7. One Elevator was not working 8. Sign on desk offered a treat to members. The staff had no idea what it was.

Nice place
Great location. Could walk to a lot of places, including the lighthouse. The breakfast was pretty basic. It included yogurt, bagels, granola bars and cereal. The bed was super comfy. I have issues sleeping at most hotels but not this one. Would definitely stay again.
