The only resort on Manitou Beach, facing Lake Manitou and with its own private beach, is an ideal place to stay when visiting Canada's "Dead Sea" Lake Manitou.

Beds & pillows were satisfactory. Bathroom had no fan, so while showering bathroom steamed up terribly. Also while showering the tub filled with water & took about 15 minutes to drain. Restaurant was very expensive & the meals were hit & miss. I’m assuming different cooks. Very disappointing. As far as the Mineral pools go, I will not be back. Pool smelled like chemical, tile was falling off from around the pool. And it looked like mold in behind. Concrete was chipping off on the bottom of the pool. There was rust on hand rails & drains. Also green algae on retaining walls. No maintenance seen at the pool for our 3 day stay. The ladies changing & shower area smelled like sewer. Not very pleasant while trying to clean off. All in all, I truly believe the owners don’t care. It’s dirty run down & in need of desperate repair. Until it’s done I will NOT BE BACK, nor will I recommend anyone else to waste their money there.

We ate at the Water’s Edge Restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably good value. It appears that there is not enough staff because the service was slow, but very friendly. The hotel is very good for a community of this size. The real draw is the saltwater pool with water drawn from Little Manitou Lake.

Manitou Springs Resort provided us with a lovely stay. Our corner view room was comfortable and gave us close up views of the lake. The mineral pools were both soothing and fun (ie buoyancy). I had the 1/2 day spa treatment. It was perfect and I highly recommend the spa. The dinning room menu is old fashion and the recipes not to my taste but apparently the locals like this kind of food. The staff throughout the facilities (and at Mike’s Beach Bar) were friendly and helpful. Lucky for the community that they have access to the migrant worker program or these services would likely disappear (ie apparently there are not enough locals to fill the job openings. In my opinion, if the locals befriend these workers they may want to stay).

I was greeted promptly at the entrance and seated. Brought water immediately and I ordered a coffee which also arrived promptly. Anastasia was a very competent and knowledgeable server who worked with a smile! I had the half Greek salad but had to return it to the kitchen as they forgot to add the cucumbers, green peppers and black olives! It was no problem and was delivered quickly with an apology. Taste and presentation were top notch although the piece of garlic bread was very limp( but tasty nonetheless!) I highly recommend this establishment as the menu is quite varied and the price is right.

The room was clean. The pool was so relaxing. The cold pool was 34 C which isn't cold but nice and warm. The warm pool is at 34C and the hot pool is 35. You can't swim because your feet float up. It is better to walk through the water or swim by treading water. When I came out of the water about one hour later, I was so relaxed. The hotel doesn't have free breakfast but they have a restaurant inside the hotel.

Our stay was ok. The beach is right across the street and lots of places to stop and eat or explore. We booked a King Jacuzzi suite at the hotel, and were surprised to find that although we were on the 3rd floor, our view was at ground level of the road and some rocks at the back of the building due to the hotel being on a hill. For the amount that we spent on our room (over $500 for 2 nights) it was disappointing that there was not even breakfast provided, and the extra cost of food became quite pricey over the 2 days. There was no ventilation in the bathroom or over the jacuzzi, so there is a concern of mold build up over time. It was advertised that when you book for two nights or more between Sun-Thurs that there was a 15% discount, but were told when we arrived that the discount was not active. We had 50 minute relaxation massages booked for each of us, but one of the therapists was running behind and the appt only ended up being 40 minutes but we were charged the full amount. We also found the massage rooms quite noisy. All in all, it was ok, but would not stay again as the price was a bit high for the quality.
