Cabin 3 infested with bed bugs! These cabins are old and dirty, WiFi is spotty at best. There are few places to stay in this area but even one night here was too long. Due to lack of options of other places to stay I had to stay the night, sitting up on a wooden chair to avoid the bedbugs. Owner refused to refund me and denies infestation. Worst stay I’ve had anywhere.

The Good: Cold AC, convenient to the state park, housekeeping was polite The Not So Good: Flies, towels and bedding ancient, mattress felt like a 4 inch foam pad from Home Depot, only two clothes hangers, numerous holes in the walls where old fixtures were removed, tub was dirty, TV required two remotes to operate (one to turn it on and control volume, the other to select the channel).

Nobody around for check in or check out. Dimly lit and couldn't find a spare lightbulb.

Won’t be going back; would not recommend to anyone Walkway to rear of cabin felt spongy. Water drainage from a/c made it slick. Interior doors would not shut. Bathtub/shower patched with silver duct tape. No soap or shampoo; had to use dawn dish soap. Areas of kitchen had wood replaced with some that didn’t match at all. Bedroom a/c didn’t keep the room cool even though it was set on 64*. Turned on ceiling fan in living room and it was very noisy. Train came by twice during the night (very loud). No ice, no light in refrigerator. Top of stove was rusty. No paper towels. You can see through the walls in the bedroom. Leak under kitchen sink. Overall the cabin was in a very dilapidated condition and could use many repairs and upgrades. We stayed there because the hotel across the road where we had the reservation was sold and is now apartments.

The cabin is cute and may be a good place to stay in the summer but it is NOT a good choice for winter unless some updates are made. 1. It was 8* outside and the window were not covered well. You could feel cold air blowing into the house. Thankfully, my mom packs everything and we duct taped blankets over the door and windows. 2. Both space heaters in the living room were apparently for looks and decoration because they didnt put out any heat. There was a leg broken on each one and they both kept falling over. We had to unplug them while we slept for our safety. 3. The heater worked better in the bedroom. I wish we had had more of these. When I woke up this morning and went to the living room...I could see my breath it was so cold. 4. No cooking supplies in the "kitchen". We brought food to cook so we could save money and there were two burners on the stove but NO trying pans, pots or spatulas. We wound up eating out for dinner and breakfast the next morning. There were some plates in the cabinet...but only ONE spoon! No other silverware to be found. 5. There were HUGE cobwebs in the kitchen and the blinds were very dirty. The blankets need to be tossed because they are very old. 6. Lots of broken items: the chair in the kitchen had broken legs and couldnt be use. Broken legs on the space heaters. Couch needs to be replaced. 7. Problems with the toilet flushing. It was a process to get it to flush everytime and this was with putting the toilet paper in the trash.

These are very comfortable, rustic cabins for an extremely reasonable price. The cabins are very clean and cozy, with many of the guest's needs anticipated in the form of cookware, utensils and various expendable items. The cabins themselves are actually made of solid, hewn logs (which I don't see very often anymore) and very charming. The host lives in a separate building onsite and is very friendly and responsive. The Spring River is a short walk away, the covered wraparound deck is perfect for sitting outside and relaxing, and there's a fire ring and barbeque grill for kicking back outside. Stores and restaurants of various kinds are within a short drive. Basically, we enjoyed the ambiance of cabin living without sacrificing quick access to any conveniences. I strongly recommend this property.
