Me and my partner stayed at Acro suites in a cave room one of the premium rooms for a couple of days. The rooms are located with a stunning view and the housekeeping was great, but our room smelled like a dirty drain, especially in the toilet, and the TV was almost coming of the wall and you couldn’t cast to it at all, which should not be possible for this kind of price. More importantly than that, over the course of the trip the reception desk of this hotel proved sadly to be incredibly rude and incompetent. We wrote them a message 2 days before arriving and they didn’t get back to us after checking in. Additionally I gave them a call to book a restaurant for our anniversary and a second one to confirm that we wanted to book it, and when we arrived at the restaurant, no reservation had been made. They couldnt do anything about it, even though the restaurant was half empty. Then, when I arrived back at the hotel to speak to reception about the missing booking, I spent most my time having to argue with the reception desk that I indeed made the reservation, what time I made it, who I spoke to, what number I pressed on the phone and being asked multiple times if I was sure. 0 solutions were offered from themselves while I was wasting over an hour of my time. The manager handled the problem a bit more swiftly, but again, for a 5 star hotel they don’t go out of their way for fixing things and making their mistakes right. They eventually offered a late booking in their own restaurant an hour after our original booking at the other place but made us feel like we should be grateful for this kind of service. It felt like a comedic parody of luxury travel concierge. The restaurant however was excellent and the entertainment fabulous. And there were further instances where mistakes happened that shouldnt have happened a place purported as luxury with such a high price; such as made to order a poached eggs at breakfast that were hard and powdery, medium rare burger (they asked how we wanted it cooked) that was served well-done, or looking to book padel and then arguing that we said tennis when we did not tennis. Politeness and solution orientated approaches seem to be sidelined for insolence and a desire to argue or justify. Making these mistakes is bad enough, but then the attitude to double down and tell me I am the problem is remarkable. The guest isn’t always right, but to make you feel like the guest is always wrong is something I would not expect from a 5 star hotel
