"I stayed here after arriving solo on the New Japan Sea Ferry from Otaru. This was my second time in Maizuru, and I had the impression that the city was a little dark, so I was a little confused, but I finally arrived at the Maizuru Grand Hotel in Nishi-Maizuru. Check-in was smooth, the room was clean, and there was a large public bath, so I was able to rest comfortably. I was surprised when I woke up in the morning to see that the area in front of Nishi-Maizuru Station had also been cleaned up. I have stayed at the Grand Hotel before, and it has been cleaned up. Today, I called to request proof of accommodation, and thank you for your kind assistance. I plan to stay with you again next time."

"Facilities: 4.5/10. Soundproofing is a bit poor; you can hear other rooms watching TV in the hallway. Fortunately, you can't hear the sounds from the next room from inside, so it's okay and at least doesn't affect sleep. Everything else is fine; it has everything you need. There's a public bath on the rooftop that's open until midnight. Room doors are unlocked with a key. Cleanliness: 5/10, very good. Environment: 5/10, a bit far from the station, about a 20-minute walk, but the price is relatively cheap. There are izakayas (Japanese pubs) all the way from the station, so you won't have trouble finding food. There's a Lawson convenience store downstairs, so it's convenient to buy things. They also have a check-in guide. The hotel reception is on the 2nd floor. Service: 4.5/10, okay, nothing special. There was someone at the reception even at 5 AM when checking out. By the way, I have to complain about the blanket. It was just a thin blanket with an empty duvet cover underneath. I don't know if they didn't want to wash the blanket or what. Without air conditioning, I don't know how I would sleep at night; it was freezing cold, several degrees below zero. Be careful if you're catching an early train in winter; the snow can be quite heavy. If it's moderate to heavy snow, allow at least 40 minutes to get to Higashi-Maizuru Station."

"You can choose the right pillow for yourself, and the room is comfortable. The reception staff was also a fellow Hongkonger, so we could communicate directly in Cantonese. The breakfast buffet was very generous. The price is also very reasonable, highly recommended!"

"Things I liked: Close to the station. Spacious smoking area in the parking lot. Clean. There are supermarkets, drugstores, and more near the hotel than just convenience stores. Things I was concerned about: The building is a bit old, and when someone opens a door, the airflow causes my room door to shake. The walls seem thin, as I can faintly hear sounds from the next room. The air conditioner is a bit old. It would have been nice to have a humidifier."
