For maximum enjoyment, remember that this is not a European hotel, and that the most important thing is not the speed of response to your questions and requests, but immersion in the contemplation of nature and fauna, the action of which, like in a Japanese theater, will unfold on the opposite bank and in the river from dawn to dusk. You won't see anything new by boat that you couldn't see from the shore. A safari in Buffalo Park is worthwhile, as the chances of seeing a large herd of elephants are high. A self-guided safari in Mahango (on the same shore where the lodge is located) is preferable. We were fortunate to experience many thrilling moments of close encounters with elephants, marsh harriers, monitor lizards, martial eagles, wildebeests that suddenly jump out of the bush 5-10 meters in front of the car hood, zebras, warthogs, kudu and other antelopes.

Unfortunately we only spent 1 night in the buffalo suite. The swing bed on the outside has the most beautiful view of the river. We saw buffalo, impala, elephants and lots of hippos. While we were waiting for dinner, the wood owls kept calling, incredibly beautiful. The food was very tasty. Next time we will stay longer.

Our stay at Ndhovu was a memorable experience. We were warmly welcomed by Ralph, the owner. The central lodge is a dramatic open wooden structure and terrace overlooking the Okavango river, with magnificent views of buffalo and elephants on the opposite bank. We stayed in the campsite, which was in a beautiful, peaceful spot from which we could appreciate the birdlife and enjoy sunset over the river. At night we could hear the nighttime activities in the river, from the safety of the raised river bank. We had dinner in the lodge, sitting in long sociable tables with other guests. The food was delicious and creatively prepared with local game. The chef accommodated our various dietary requirements (vegetarian and gluten free) and even specially cooked a loaf of gluten free bread for us. We wished we had had time to stay for several days at least, in order to benefit from the interesting excursions available and soak up more of the lovely atmosphere.

We liked our house, floating on the river. Clean well equipped and a wonderful outside sitting area. We did not like the Restaurant and Service (sitting on a big table with other guests, when the salad plate arrived at our place it was empty, no refill service, We ordered a bottle of wine, they brought us an open bottle!? At breakfast, 08:15 coffee was empty, there were no cups, no plates, nobody around, nobody was removing empty plates from previous guest, nobody came to ask for hot breakfast) We did not like the game drive: The Driver was hunting for the lions, ignored everything else. We were 8 people on a small game drive vehicle. In a middle seat it was impossible to move or take pictures. We had to pre order our drinks, the driver forgot the cups. We did not like the motorboats, only few meters away from our hours starting engines at 06.30 in the morning.

Ndhovu Safari Lodge is located by the Okavango River, on the Namibia side. The campsite is very good — spacious, with shared showers and toilets. The staff are very friendly, and the price is very reasonable. There’s a common area where you can enjoy a sunset cruise on the river to see hippos (highly recommended). You can also have drinks, dinner, and breakfast there. The menu is set, so you can’t choose, but we had the zebra lasagna for dinner — absolutely delicious!

Beautiful lodges, view on the river with elephants, hippos, gazelles and other animals enjoying their ' late afternoon drinks' at the other side of the river. Lodges are top, beautiful constructed with wood. German quality. Nice swing bed outside on the veranda with view on the river. The lion lodge had a bath outside with view on the river. The buffalo lodge was as nice but without the bath. Both were spacious! Great shower! Food was excellent, the chef knows what he is doing. Lovely food and presentation on the plate.

Campsite 1: on the river bank...we saw all kinds of animals on the other side of the river drinking water. Heard the lions, elephants, hippos during the night - beautiful sounds . Awesome camping spot. Will definitely go there again.

Nice quiet campsite, near the river (not all sites are within view), with a great place to watch sunset, and a high quality sunset cruise on the river.
