Hampton Inn & Suites Macon I-75 North

We arrived at the property and went to the front desk, where two female staffers were preoccupied with something on the computer system. Stood in front of them for several minutes finally asked if this was the Hampton Inn, which they said yes, and went right back to their tasks. Finally, we decided to go to the restroom and then return to the desk where we finally were able to check in. No one said hello asked if they could help us. It was as if we were invisible. Never had this experience at any place before.

We recently spent the night here on our way to N.C. and even though we didn’t have a problem with the room we did have a problem with the desk clerk who checked us in. After standing at the counter for 5+ minutes the clerk came out from the back office and said hello to us and nothing else, No welcome to Hampton, no how can I help you, no nothing. I told her our name, we had reservations and would like to check in. Asked for our card and gave us our room key. Didn’t recognize us as Hilton Honors members and we had to ask for water. She did not represent the Hilton Brand well and we were a little disappointed. Fortunately the room was very nice, clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was clean with a great shower head. The 2 ladies in the breakfast area were great. They greeted us and asked if they could be of any help as well as chatting with us for a bit. Definitely made you feel welcome. I’d definitely stay here again but if I was Hampton I’d discuss customer relations with night clerk.

Check in was easy. Rooms were spacious. Breakfast options were very good. We received excellent service from Key who took time to check on the guests.

Upon arrival there was a roach at the counter. The front desk lady killed it and stated pest control just left. Assuming bugs would come in due to the heat increasing in the area it wasn’t a total flop. She allowed us to check in early which was great. We opted out from eating anything unpackaged. The pool area needed some attention. The light in the pool was broken off hanging in the pool. The pool was very large and kids enjoyed it. Later in the evening we interacted with 2 other staff members to assist with freezing our ice packs one was very friendly and told us they would be happy to freeze them offered bags and when we brought them down another one huffed and puffed “oh your the ice pack people” not friendly and when leaving she was still there annoyed we were retrieving our packs.

Liked the cleanliness. As always. Need more and better training for host staff. Just ok. Not worth what I paid.
