HÔTEL & Spa Panorama 360

Couldn’t fault the hotel room, parking facility or staff. All first class. The bedding was excellent too, BUT, we were booked in on a Sunday as part of our journey through France and down to Mallorca. After 7 hours of driving we were ready for a nice meal but only to be told there was no restaurant in the hotel. The only facility was the 360 bar who served Tapas. (Not what we had in mind). We decided to look around the town in search of a brasseria or pizzeria, but they were all closed. So we had no choice and ended up in the rooftop bar which was quite impressive in itself. As the weather wasn’t in our favour to sit in the open air area we went inside but we were freezing. (A pet hate of mine). The staff were very good particularly the boys and very attentive. The choice of food was limiting, either a charcuterie or mozzarella sticks, fries or a green salad. As my husband is a vegetarian none of these choices were appealing however we ordered the charcuterie and salad thinking he could have the cheese and I could have the meat. The bread that arrived with it was stale and inedible, when I asked if it was fresh the waitress said it was, but nothing like lovely French bread that I’m familiar with. I never want to see cold meats again although several different meats it was just so one dimensional. We won’t choose to stay at this hotel again and will definitely be looking for a hotel with an open restaurant on a Sunday.

Panorama 360 is listed as a 4* hotel and priced accordingly. In some regards it is excellent but in others falls short. Pros: Stunning conversion of a landmark historic building Gorgeous roof bar Rooms clean and a decent size Safe provided Own garage - always a win in a city centre Great location Cons: No A/C (it was 33 in Macon in July)! No wardrobe! Just two wall hooks. There was a large space with a table and chairs (pictured) that could have had a rail at least No bathrobes (standard in most 4*s) No minibar No drawers, just three shelves Very inattentive bar staff Polite and friendly, but rather ineffectual reception staff who got very stressed at being asked about booking a taxi, or the spa Hypocritical environmental policy (reuse your towel, but we will only give you disposable cups wrapped in plastic, and no basin plus so had to run excessive water - see pictures) No proper coffee machine

The hotel is a beautiful restoration of the old Post Office, with its highlight being the rooftop Skybar and its panoramic views of the city. Rooms are comfortable, staff very friendly and breakfast all you could ask for. It is located right in the heart of town and close to the river, so plenty to enjoy.

What an experience! A great hotel. Not cheap when adding in drinks/ parking/ food but a lovely experience. The room was immaculate, car park safe and the staff were super friendly.

Nice staff. Friendly nice room. Only one night so didn’t look around the area. Secure on site parking
