hotel service is perfect. The view is phenomenal for Lakeview penthouse rooms. There are restaurant and bar by the lake, but a room service to the room and have dinner at balcony is even better. Ordering room service can be done via tablet, very convenient. But remember there are service charges for room service.
Sadly is the room we checked-in was without a bathtub. Will consider to get the outdoor bathtub room next time.

As as Swiss, I never travelled much inside Switzerland. I am usually travel around in Asia, like Japan, Thailand, Taiwan. So I was seriously shocked how low quality the Swiss Hotels are. Besides this I was also in Interlaken, and have to say the hotels are mere Motel standard at a price tag from 300-500$ for 15m² not even clean.
And it's not only this Hotel, many others around I had Lunch or Dinner are in such bad condition
But to the "Art Deco" Montana...
The best part is at the beginning. Reaching the entrance by a Cogwheel Car, is great, the lobby is nice as well and the terrace with lake view is beautiful.
But then, comes the issue, the price changed, the day of the check in was 180$ cheaper for the same room than when I booked it. We didn't get any compensation which i didn't expect i Switzerland anyways, still a bit disappointed. But ok... off to the hotel room. The pictures prepared me to not have too much expectations but, the reality is just so heartbreaking worse.
I stayed in cheap hotels for 80$ in China or Thailand with same standard.
The Dyson Hairdryer didn't save the impression.
We were the first 30 minutes really depressed, sitting on the bed full of regrets going to lucerne.
It's all so cheap made for that price.
Well, we recovered and left the hotel for travel.
But bottom line, the cheapest hotels in Switzerland are barely worse than the range from 400-600$ like the Montana.
If wanna luxury, better opt for those instagram famous Hotels for 1200$ +
Anything else is all the same low standard.
Side Note: In Switzerland 3-4 Stars Hotel Minibar is not free.

A great hotel situated just at the hill, with a great view of the lake. Can be a tad expensive, but the hotel is high tech and the rooms are comfortable, warm and feels like home.
Love the duck in the bathroom too!

I stayed there in one of the junior suite with the lake view. Everything was quaint in that place especially the view that I was enjoying all the time. The suite is pleasant and it is included anything a couple needs. Even if you ask for additional dental kit , or other things that you might want, they will give it to you without any hesitation and the staff are so friendly.love Art Deco

What an incredible stay! The entire team was lovely and the room was one of my favourites from our entire 7 week trip. What a stunning view from our balcony, and gorgeously designed rooms with good taste in decor. We loved everything about this hotel!

We arrived at the hotel. As we entered the hotel tram the door slammed close on my arm. It was bruised but the hotel said that this is not America and they don’t have a way for you to complete an accident report. Most of the hotel staff did not speak English. We never experienced a European hotel like this one. Our first room faced a construction site. Our tour promised us a lake or Mountain View. We had to pay a lot more money to upgrade. The hotel did nothing to accommodate us other than provide a king bed.

Nevertheless it is true, that the Swiss system concerning accidents is not the same as the American system, which means that there are no claims forms to fill out here, as is the case in America. What our head of reception on site and our Rooms Division Manager have already tried to explain to you multiple times is that the usual procedure in such a case is for the injured party to go to the doctor and report any damage to their insurance company themselves. What we have also already tried to explain to you is the fact that not every guest on the Viking River Cruise can have the same room category, as we have 16 different room categories in our 63 rooms. In addition, the room allocation is done by Viking itself. We regret that the room assigned to you did not meet your expectations. We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Montana this past weekend! As always, the welcome and hospitality were flawless. The new interior design by Ina Rinderknecht is absolutely stunning, bringing a modern and elegant touch to the hotel. A special thanks for all the thoughtful touches you arranged for my wife’s birthday. She was truly moved, and it made our stay even more memorable. When I arrived a the Art Deco Hotel Montana, the reception was very informative, warm and welcoming! Very professional and helpful in every respect! My room at the hotel was a Grand Deluxe Lakeside. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't the corner room shown online with the two balconies, but the balcony I had provided an amazing view of Lake Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus! The welcoming glass of champagne and bowl of nuts was a definite plus! The bathroom is amazing with the rainshower and the separate soaking tub! The lemon scented bath salts provided a relaxing soak after a long day of touring. The breakfasts were simply fabulous! In fact I enjoyed this hotel so much that I stayed an extra three days even though I had pre-paid hotel accommodations at another hotel with a group tour - about a 6 minute walk away! The funicular was a fun way to get to and from the street and the walk into the city center along the lakeside was very refreshing! My stay from start to finish at the Art Deco Hotel Montana was incredible! So spacious and so bright and colorful! And the A/C was the coldest I have ever experienced in Europe! The room service was wonderful as well! This was part of my 23 day European vacation and absolutely one of my favorite hotels!

Very pretty view of the lake! Do not love the hotel. Rooms are too small when traveling with 2 large suitcases and 2 people. The bathroom is very small too. The shower doesn't work very well either in this room. Too small of an area to hang clothes because of the selves that are in the way. Hopefully other rooms ate different. The dinner in the bar was great the 1st night. The 2nd night it was closed so we went to the beach club bar but left right away. Had dinner in the restaurant. Great food a little spendy. Waitress was very patient with us.

Absolutely lovely hotel in a great location. They made it special for our 20th anniversary. Lovely double balcony lake view room. Staff were great all round Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Fabulous staff, room, views, and location. This is a true class act. Worth every penny. The private cable car helps get to and from the hotel very quickly and conveniently. We had the Suite with balcony on 6th floor and we overlooked the lake. This was an unforgettable experience.

We have a stay at the Art decor montana. We were told the mini bar and the snacks were free. we had confirmed couple of times and they said that's its covered. but when we checked out they charged us for the drinks and they said non-alcoholic beverages were only free. it was a bummer. we did mention we confirmed couple of times. I would ever go back. we had been to another hotel in Lucerne and they had the alcoholic drinks at the mini bar for free. we spect so much money for the room and its a shame that they charged us for the mini bar. Dont choose this hotel.

Wonderful property with first class service and a wonder Christmas Eve Dinner. The Hotel Staff were extremely friendly and helpful in advising us about daily excursions.
