i saw many positive reviews and was excited to see if it was reality... Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel. The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space) The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in oh also the little cat is so cute !

The hostel is very new and modern, very well maintained, staff is very friendly and helpful, they build a community for young people to gather , share information and have fun together. Luoyang is a great place to visit and this hostel is at a perfect location. Highly recommend it!

The building is newly renovated. The staffs are nice and with good greetings. The facilities is superb. There is singing performance on Friday and Saturday.

This hotel is very clean and conveniently located just a 3-4 minute walk from Zhouwangcheng Metro Station (Exit A2). It is also next to Wanda Plaza, which offers excellent shopping and dining options. The hotel provides all the necessary facilities, making it worth the price. The staff are polite and helpful, and I truly appreciate their assistance. The bed capsules in the rooms are larger than those in other hostels, and I enjoy sleeping here because the bed is very soft and the blankets are clean. The shower room and toilet are also very clean. Additionally, the hotel has a spacious workspace and a library room, which are great for working and reading in a quiet environment. I had a wonderful experience during my 5-day stay, and I will definitely return to this hotel next time.

Really good location in Luoyang . There is a small shop for breakfast for less than 10yuan for a full meal . The bed are very comfy as well as good common places . Plus the cats are very cute And at 1pm from a big mall in which you can eat and do some shopping ! Very convenient.

I stay there one week and love it. Everyone at front desk are young, polite, lovely and helpful. The room are clean and location are great

Location is good. I could not find it the first time but hotel promptly replied my message on Trip.com. Overall stay is pleasant.

Stayed longer just cause of the facilities

This is a very large hostel with very good service. The staff greets you with a smile at the counter; the girl at the reception, although she did not speak English, said a prepared phrase after registration: "Follow my colleague, he will show you around the hostel." That is, they clearly worked with the staff! The young man really showed me around the building: showed me the room, toilet, bathroom, recreation areas. The hostel is well thought out: already at the entrance, near the elevator, there are a large number of small cells for shoes and change of slippers - that is, you come in from the street, change your shoes, and walk around everywhere in clean flip-flops. The hostel's hygiene is also at a very high level - very clean. The bathrooms are a separate room. The toilets are separate rooms (and toilets, not holes in the floor). As I understand it, there is a separation for both women's toilets/showers and men's. I would like to point out one more detail that I remember and that was not in other hostels of a similar level and scale: when you enter the shower and close the door, you hang your things and a towel on the hooks on the door. But often, in other hostels, things and a towel got wet because of this. Here, they took this into account and hung an additional thick curtain between the door and the shower. Very cool! As for bathroom accessories, they also have everything: toilet paper, shampoo, body gel, soap, towel. I also really remember the organization of public areas: there is a quiet place (something like a library), where you can sit, read or just relax in silence; near the reception there is a large screen for watching movies (and people really sat together and watched); there is a pool table (a very popular place - no matter how often I passed, there was always a game there); and, my love - the roof. The roof, where there are umbrellas, green carpet and chairs with tables where you can sit, eat, relax and in the evening, when the lights come on, unwind. Very cozy. Unfortunately, I couldn't fully enjoy all the order and organization of the hostel, since I chose this place because of its proximity to the station and the price, and before that I stayed closer to the Grottoes, but the hostel is clearly VERY GOOD! And, by the way, I'll note that you don't have to do what I did: look for accommodation closer to the Grottoes so that they are within walking distance. Bus 81 runs from the hostel. I think it runs until 8 pm. That is, arriving at the Grottoes by 5 pm will not be a problem (well, and if you stay in the Grottoes until the evening, for example, until 9-10, a taxi will not be too expensive. In any case, you will pay more for a private room near the Grottoes). Overall, if I had planned to stay in Luoyang longer, I would have chosen this place for a longer stay. It is a social, well-organized hostel, where you can find everything you need. Unfortunately, there is only one photo of the hostel itself - the rooftop, but what a place)

The stay was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything was new. There was a billiard room. There were movies to watch while eating. It was a great and comfortable stay.

I highly recommend this youth hostel. It has a great location, right next to Wanda Plaza and not far from Yingtianmen. It's newly opened and very clean. When you draw the curtain, you have your own little space to be alone. There are also study rooms, movie-watching areas, etc. It's very suitable for a solo trip to Luoyang.

Good, reasonable price, activities, clean beds, and the auntie also recommends it.
