Property Description
You are nestled in the heart of the PA Wilds, surrounded by State Parks and Forests. With miles of hiking, and biking trails to explore. Along the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning River you will be able to enjoy, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing in some of the best trophy trout waters in the state. Depending on what time of year you are staying at the house; there are nesting birds (we have a returning mourning dove on the deck). We have seen pileated wood peckers fledge from the old tree by the river along the path to the best place to launch your kayak/canoe. That “old tree” looks dead, but is full of life and home to many of our woodland neighbors. It is not unusual to see a Bald Eagle, Osprey or other bird perched on top waiting to fish the river. Deer and the occassional Elk like to pass thru the expansive back yard as well. The kitchen is well equipped; you should find what you may need to prepare meals. You can enjoy a propane fireplace in the living room, or build you own fire in the fire pit on the patio out back by the pond. Not only are you in the heart of the PA Wilds but you are also located in the Dark Skies viewing area. Lean back and enjoy the view in from the yard or visit near-by stargazing sites in the area. We encourage guests to explore the area as there are so many things to keep everyone interested. History buffs will recognize the Bucktail Trail from the Civil War Era. The area is rich in American and Pennsylvania History. The Cameron County Historical Society is close by located in a depression-era schoolhouse and full of fascinating collections. Mountain bike at dawn, hike or bike a nearby trail in the afternoon or float the river in a Kayak and cast a rod to try your luck at fishing, then pull up a chair for star gazing at night. This was a great location for all we planned on seeing in this section of Pennsylvania. The home was very clean and neat; roomy and nice design; had everything you would need to prepare meals; quiet and peaceful backyard. We saw an Eagle, a Blue Heron and a Kingfisher at the creek. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely visit again if we are back in the PA Wilds.

Beautifully decorated, so comfortable, kitchen great. Able to enjoy the beautiful grounds, pond, stream, exploring for wildlife. Stream was available for fishing, saw an eagle fly over and a 6-point buck run across stream to mention a few. Mountain view, deck great for am coffee and evening beverages!

The house is well designed for a family or couples. The kitchen is well-stocked for almost any meal. The decor is comfortable and not fussy. The hosts have a home away from home.

This was a very beautiful home and a great place to come back to at the end of long day sightseeing and exploring the area. It was in middle of the different places we wanted to go. We even seen a glimse of the Northern Lights. We had a small issue that was immediately addressed by the home owner. Thank you for opening your home to us.

The place is great. Clean, modern, with great amenities inside and outside. The beds were comfortable and the place has a huge yard, a fire pit, a nice deck, and an easy path to the water. Emporium is charming and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. I'll stay again if my work or life brings me back.

Communication was great. The place was very clean and cozy. We felt like home. They had everything that we would ever think of( coffee and coffee marker, towels, cleaning supplies, shampoo, soap, a list of places u can visit. We had a very relaxing time and would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing stay The house was in a good location, clean and well equipped, including the kitchen which made making meals very convenient. The back porch and patio were wonderful and where we spent most of our time watching the birds, butterflies, deer and watching the eagles in the creek. At night, the fire pit was great while we gazed at the stars listening to the bullfrogs in the pond. There were many aspects to enjoy at this property. Our only suggestion would be to restore the gardens to (what appears) to have been beautiful; as avid gardeners, we think this would enhance what is already a beautiful, relaxing space to the next level. We are looking forward to staying again in the future!

Great stay This place is very relaxing, cozy and clean. Spent some time fishing and sitting on the porch playing cards and watching the dove that has a nest on the porch was hoping the baby dove would start flying before we left but didn't happen. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.
