Booked without knowing anything about this place ghosts and all . To start we drive an x6 that’s quite wide getting into the car park took a minute or too even having to put the wing mirrors in but it wasn’t designed for cars I get that so don’t let that put you off ! The hotel is stunning and the staff were great from start to finish 👌 we had a cosy room in the old building & it was great, this is a building that is 100’s of years old & it’s moves so a couple of cracks in floor tiles but it’s character. Had crab & crayfish starter but stone cold in the middle had to send it back which really put a damper on the evening 😢. lamb main was incredible to the point of me replicating & the chicken dish was good ! The main bar ran out of larger around 7.00 pm on a Saturday night & only had one choice of rose” for the wife A few ghost stories talking to the staff was great just before bed & on leaving we could see our rooms window which we left the curtains closed was now wide open & we know housekeeping wasn’t in there 👻

Lovely people and good food. Our room was just a couple of tweaks away from spectacular and our friends' room was excellent. Truly comfortable beds and the renovations have been sympathetically carried out. I saw lots of changes since my last visit FIFTY years ago, but I love it even more today. We WILL return. (Ludlow is a delightful town and we managed to find lots of really good eateries and coffee shops as well as being able to satisfy the 'need to shop').

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Ludlow. There is on site parking and the castle is a few minutes walk away. Check in was simple and we navigated through the meandering corridors to reach our rooms. It’s a 400 year old building so there are stairs, steps and turns as well as some fabulous wood panelling and glass. My room, 104, was a good size with an excellent modern bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable, there was a good sized desk plus additional seating and the sockets all had USB ports too. The room was quiet, overlooking the car park and despite the hotel being busy there was no noise intrusion from other guests. Breakfast was excellent, buffet with various cooked to order options. Not excessive but good sized portions and decent service. Overall a lovely stay in a fabulous location.

Warm welcome ,friendly staff, great food ,warm comfortable room with en suite, lovely atmosphere throughout, couldn't ask for more. We'll go again. Great value with many deals available, you could pay more elsewhere and get a lot less! Check it out.

Went for lunch with my husband and father in law. We ordered a ham cob and smoked salmon & cream cheese cob. Staff were friendly but very slow service due to being understaffed. Food was poor and overpriced. Both the cobs were dry, they forgot to butter on the ham cob and on the salmon came without cream cheese. We asked for condiments, but they arrived after we had eaten half the meal. Very disappointed and will not be returning. How on earth can the chefs get a sandwich wrong?

The Feathers is an historic grade one listed coaching inn which has undergone a lavish renovation. It has a traditional olde-worlde ambience yet is now modern and comfortable. We had a one night Travelzoo package including dinner, room and breakfast. Because this is the low season, we enjoyed excellent value on this basis. Our bedroom was spacious, warm and comfortable and an ironing board, hair dryer, fan, tea and coffee making, fridge and flat screen TV were provided. The view from room 131 was non existent but at least we saw a bit of sky! Dinner was perfectly acceptable but not exciting. Ludlow has a reputation for fine dining, but you need to eat elsewhere to find it. Staff are helpful and friendly but worked off their feet! Service at both breakfast and dinner was too slow. They could use more staff, but that might increase prices. We stayed on one of the coldest days of the year and loved the open log fire in the bar. However, doors to the outside of the building allowed cold draughts to reach public areas. Double doors could help during winter. We would stay here again, but preferably in milder weather.

A lovely stay to start the new year. All staff, from the manager to the cleaning staff were helpful and polite; the hotel was warm and welcoming. The food was excellent. Car parking facilities were available. We would definitely stay here again.
