Very unpleasant experience with staff member with the name ‘Henry’ Very rude and unpleasant most uncomfortable experience I have ever had Would not recommend this place ever if this is how they let their staff treat paying customers Very unprofessional could hear personal phones calls he was making during his shift if anyone could hear what he was speaking about during this phone call you could not look him in the eyes again

We booked into the Feathers for an overnight stay during one of the hottest weeks, so we opted for a balcony room. The room overlooked the car park and was very modern and spacious. When I booked it, it did say twin room, but one part said one large bed and the other said twin beds. I assumed it was a case of they could zip the beds together, so I emailed the hotel asking that we have a large bed. Of course, there was no response because I don’t think this hotel knows how to communicate, and we arrived to twin beds. Upon arrival, we parked in the car park. We were quite early, so we popped in to make sure it was okay to park there. The couple in front of us were also early, and the receptionist was lovely to them. She offered to check whether their room was ready, etc. When we approached right afterwards and explained that we parked in the car park, she just said, “Yeah, that’s fine,” and didn’t offer to look if our room was ready. We asked, and it wasn’t, but she just had a complete 360º with her attitude and came across as really rude. Then came the time for check-in. Again, the couple in front of us were greeted by this time a male receptionist. They were informed that they take a £50 deposit for the room, and off they went. When I went to check in, we had the same issue again: a surly response, and when it came to taking the deposit, the card machine just pushed it in front of me with no explanation as to what I was paying for, etc. Back to the room, our balcony was nice enough but only had one chair, which given it’s a twin room you’d think two would be standard. Then three men— who worked for the hotel— just came walking up onto our balcony, with no introduction or a wave to say they were there. Fine, they have to maintain stuff, but when someone is relaxing in their room, having three men show up unannounced is a bit disconcerting. These workers would also have seen there was just one chair on the balcony and two people, but of course, they didn’t actually bring another chair. The other issue was the room was right above the kitchen where you had the chefs sitting outside smoking whilst on their breaks. That put me off eating in the restaurant because they could barely summon any kind of smile or customer service either. We did have a drink in the bar area, which is a really nice space, and the bar staff were absolutely lovely, really friendly and helpful. Plus, the Aperol Spritz was amazing. We had a little scout around the hotel and it’s a really interesting building. I did find it a little strange that the central heating was on full blast though, especially when it was 27º outside. Overall, lovely room and in a great place, but the customer service has put me off ever returning.

Hotel parking should be inclusive when you're paying £230 per room for 1 night including breakfast!... Hotel could do with providing more adequate stock, we came back to the hotel for 22:30 and they were out of certain drinks. The cooked breakfast in the morning was luke warm and only 1 cup of coffee/tea is provided per guest, I made the mistake of asking for a top up (a 2nd cup of coffee) and received a bill at check-out. Again for the overall price, I would have expected refills as most other hotels provide.

Absolutely no good, had a takeout Sunday dinner and it’s was dreadful. First of all can we address the fact you put courgettes on a Sunday dinner like *** is that, in all my years of eating out I’ve never had that and it ruined the dinner straight away. The massive Yorkshire pudding that was tough/dry as old boots was vile. The undercooked hard potato’s were neither use nor ornament. As for the poxy bit of pork I was given I wouldn’t have bothered. Gravy was none existent and sloppy carrots/broccoli were nasty! Not happy we paid £18 per head but here we are, it looked better in the bin.

Hotel its self it lovely but it’s the little things that let it down .. staff were great and very friendly .. emailed a few days before about an early check in but got no response … when we didn’t come to check in at 4pm room wasn’t ready and had to wait till nearly 5pm then when we got to room 3rd bed wasn’t made up so had to go back and ask reception and they confirmed my booking was for 3 so they said they would do it later … the bathroom was lovely but unfortunately the toilet didn’t flush so I had to bring this up as well .. when to the concert and came back bed was made and toilet had a temporarily fix on it but soon broke again … … extra charge for breakfast which was half decent .. we dined at lunchtime and that was nice too … it’s in a great location and could be a 5 ⭐ just need to work on the house keeping and maintenance as it’s not a cheap place to stay £300 for one night is a bit steep!!

We had a great time, booked in on Sunday and booked out on Thursday morning. We only had one meal at he hotel as eating out has lots of choices. Only slight complaint would be the parking charge in the hotel car park, 7.50 a night is not really fair. Apart from that room was great bed was great and the staff are brilliant.
