The Feathers is an historic grade one listed coaching inn which has undergone a lavish renovation. It has a traditional olde-worlde ambience yet is now modern and comfortable. We had a one night Travelzoo package including dinner, room and breakfast. Because this is the low season, we enjoyed excellent value on this basis. Our bedroom was spacious, warm and comfortable and an ironing board, hair dryer, fan, tea and coffee making, fridge and flat screen TV were provided. The view from room 131 was non existent but at least we saw a bit of sky! Dinner was perfectly acceptable but not exciting. Ludlow has a reputation for fine dining, but you need to eat elsewhere to find it. Staff are helpful and friendly but worked off their feet! Service at both breakfast and dinner was too slow. They could use more staff, but that might increase prices. We stayed on one of the coldest days of the year and loved the open log fire in the bar. However, doors to the outside of the building allowed cold draughts to reach public areas. Double doors could help during winter. We would stay here again, but preferably in milder weather.
