This is a lovely place, we stayed in the ‘cottage’ which was more like an annexe building and it had two rooms of which we occupied one. The room was good, we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room and the breakfast menu had a lot of choice too which was great. There were options for a full English style breakfast, but also options for cereals and fruits etc. We decided to try dinner at the hotel one evening and we were extremely happy with our choice. The food was excellent quality and very enjoyable. The hotel is a short walk into the centre, very close to the castle which is worth a visit and you can see the castle from the road you walk on from the hotel to the city.

The Cliffe is our favourite hotel for every occasion! All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is amazing!My sister and her husband stayed here recently and said they said the kindness and care they received was something they will always remember.There is a lovely ambience here, which is entirely down to the staff,who give our collie Bruno a great welcome every day.Relaxing music and great jazz nights too Love the place and so do all our friends.

Lovely location close to the river but a fair walk outside Ludlow town centre. Room on the top floor was on the small side but acceptable. Comfortable bed but the room was freezing. No afternoon/evening central heating and then the heating came on early in the morning and went off again when it was time to get up. Very cold room without central heating. Bathroom smelt of damp but there was no extractor fan and just a velux-like window, which did open. Decent hotel but there is a heating problem or they limit heating at certain times. Uncomfortably cold in our room on the top floor. Decent breakfast.

Lovely relaxing place easy excess to village. Bed the best we stayed in excellent. Food fabulous breakfast lovely lots of choice. Staff very attentive nothing to much trouble. Defo stay again .

We lunch fairly regularly at The Cliffe restaurant and cannot rate it too highly. We have always enjoyed our meals there but today was exceptional. The food was exquisitely cooked and we were fortunate enough to meet Max, the new Head Chef. What an amazing Chef he is and, personally, we think The Cliffe is lucky to have recruited him. We’d also like to mention the lovely lady who was in charge of front of house today - another person who is superb at her job We look forward to many meals there in the future.
