Borgo Vinceri

"The word oasis had many varied meanings..but one: A calm, pleasant, or peaceful place in the middle of somewhere busy, chaotic, or stressful" applies in this case although the small city of Lucera is clearly not stressful. But the Borgo Vinceri is nonetheless an oasis. A beautifully maintained property a five minute walk to the "Centro Storico" where the evening passagiata is something to be a part of. If you enjoy the idea of seeing what life is like in Italy, you need to come to Lucera and stay at the Borgo Vinceri. The inn is superb...it is impeccably clean, rooms are appointed with care and consideration for the needs of guests and the overall environment exudes "class". Each room has a ensuite bath...a great shower...coffee machine..air conditioning...and extremely comfortable beds. Roberto and Titti have created something very special. The views of the Puglian countryside are majestic and panoramic and the sunsets are to die for. We loved staying there during our 4-day visit to that part of Puglia. A car is essential particularly if you want to visit spots like, San Giovanni Rotondo, Vieste, Trani, Manfredonia, the Castel Del Monte...Monte Sant Angelo...even Bari is within reach. In addition to impeccable rooms, the daily breakfast is outstanding...one can choose cereal, various fruits, yogurt, breads and croissants...prosciutto, mortadella, cheese...you name and it's available. And of course, Cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice. It's really a perfect place to stay. So, bottom line, if you visit this areas of Puglia, you have to stay at the Borgo Vinceri! You'll be glad you did! enjoy!"

"What a gem of a place! It's by far the best place that we stayed in the 9 days in Italy. We were here for 2 nights as it was closest to where our family resides in Faeto. Beautifully decorated, modern, serene and peaceful The host was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Beautiful terrace up top to sit and enjoy the views .I would definitely stay here again. 10/10"

"We stayed from December 31st to January 2nd. I just think that the owners are good people but the fault lies with those who assign the stars. I would remove them all so that each of us knows where we will end up. Breakfast, let's not talk about it. The dining room service reminds me of a military canteen run by kids, both the service and the kitchen preparations. Water: I remembered when I was a recruit in the military that while you were taking a shower they would block the supply. A piece of advice, catering is something else and hospitality is also another story to be given into the hands of competent people. Greetings to all"

"I had booked a spa treatment + couple's massage for two and the day use of the room to unwind a bit given the frenetic pace of the moment. We had already been here and had a great time. This time I think it will be the last. We arrived late due to our own fault and of the 3 hours of spa we only managed to do one hour but we still wanted to do it. The girl (very kind) told us that given the delay only one of us could have the massage and I decided to give it to my husband. The couple's massage was for half an hour one half an hour the other. In the half hour left due to a chlorine dosage error we were only able to move some salt into the room because it was hard to breathe) we communicated it to the lady. We went to lunch and were greeted by a living menu without being able to see prices or anything else. We were served a good lunch but when we arrived at the sliced steak it was miserable and placed on the grill with all the parmesan and rocket (I didn't know it was served like that). I asked for the weight since I didn't even know how much we would have paid for it. We were told 250g but there weren't even any left. 150 We fly over, pay and go to the room. The open-plan suite was really beautiful with a huge, round bed and admirable Frederick II style. Too bad the welcome kit for a day use was my grandmother's Marseille soap. We arrive at the air conditioning. I think it was from the era of Frederick II because it made a deafening noise. We go downstairs to pay and leave peacefully, but here comes the best part. With the total payment, I am asked to also pay for the massage that was not done because the girl had already prepared everything.....what had she prepared? The hands? If you use the spa you pay for two hours and I am late, it is absolutely right that the spa is paid in full. But if the girl would have done a massage each and we only had one, I did not take away any extra work from her! Furthermore, the owner leaves this matter to a kind and polite but completely unarmed receptionist. Total expense? 180 + 70 for lunch. I do not add words."
