Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lubbock, TX

When I first arrived with my children I walked into the front lobby where a fish tank was disgusting full of algae and the whole lobby smelled of ****. I asked the front desk person if he had been smoking **** and he said yes. He couldn’t give us the room we reserved an entire month ago as he had occupied it with other guests. We get up to the room he did have available only to find the beds were not made, there had been a fire in the room so everything was unplugged, including the smelly refrigerator, and the temperature was hot due to thermostat unplugged. The bathtub was absolutely filthy with rusted drains and there were no towels. The chairs and bed boards were also very dirty with obvious stains. The tiles in the floor were cracked in several places and the carpets had not been cleaned. We had to wear shoes to walk around and protect our feet. I called the front desk to get housekeeping but they had left for the day. I asked the front desk person to bring me new bedding and he flat out stated “that’s not my job ma’am that’s housekeeping”. Ok by this time my patience is running low. He said he can move us to another room. Ok so we start to pick up our bags to meet him downstairs when he calls back to tell us someone else just occupied the room he was going to move us to. Ugh! It was a nightmare!! After about 30 minutes of standing and waiting he brought bedsheets. That’s it. I asked him to change them and he started arguing with me. I decided to drop it so my family would have a place to rest for the night. We had to wait another hour for towels. I attempted to contact Trip.com customer service but just got circulated through AI survey after survey. I never could reach a real person. My son was coming back from the restroom and pointed out a deer mouse by the bed. I told the front desk and he told me “we don’t have mice in the building ma’am”. We lured the mouse out with bread that we had into a hallway completely up in **** smoke. It was so bad my daughters asthma was triggered. The free breakfast has eggs made with egg powder and cold water, the sausage is undercooked, other options minimal such as one raspberry yogurt, oatmeal packets, or plain bagels. No fruit options or staff on hand to help. Housekeeping is in charge of opening up breakfast. This hotel is family owned and operated with EXTREMELY POOR customer service. I will not be taking my family there again. I would HIGHLY discourage anyone else to stay there as well.

We stayed here Tuesday-Thursday but didn't stay in the room other than to sleep at night as we were in town for a funeral and visiting family. The beds were made when we walked in and all seemed clean initially but as I looked more, the shower curtains looked like they had never been changed or washed. They were stained and molded all over! The window curtains were in the same condition, extremely stained and splattered with who knows what. The walls also had splatters of dried liquid and whatever else everywhere. The room didn't come with any towels so we had track down housekeeping since they never seemed to have anyone at the front desk. The breakfast was ok, just normal hotel food. Nothing special. It had a pool but we didn't swim or go see it. The ice machine was also broken and the hotel system was down when we arrived. Only reason I recommend the hotel is because I got a great deal on it and it was in a good location for where we needed to be.

This hotel is very run down. When you arrive, you will see a boarded up wondow and a building that is in need of a face lift. Mamangeable right? When you get inside, the disappointment continues. Brokrn AC first floor. Broken elevator, enjoy the hike. Missing door handles in hallway stairwells The rooms don't feel clean, light bulbs burned out, bathroom faucet that water barely trickles out of it. One hand towel, one wash cloth, don't expect an extra one. Ceiling has a leak near the window, in need of obvious repair. Breakfast...I had NO intention of eating here. Coffee only, quiz wasn't labeled. Maybe decaff maybe not. Cups (and all plates/bowls) were styrafoam. At 9:10, no muffins, no bagels, just a few slices of bread. Haven't seen bed bugs, yet. I won't be suprised though. It feels likewise berry basic and easy to maintain details are overlooked here.

Horrible horrible stay. Elevator broken, ac took 30 minutes to turn on, no bedspread or blanket on bed, sheets were all mangled like they had been slept on previously. Checked for bedbugs, mold around toilet, one wash rag, ice machine broken. Breakfast was fake eggs, not sure what the sausage was made of… bugs on unclean tables, bread was so old and tasted like cardboard. Not sure where Trip advisor got the rating of 3.8, but this hotel and staff were by far the WORST hotel experience ever. I have travelled for years and have never seen a more nasty hotel. Breakfast was fake eggs, bread was dried out, not sure what the sausage was made out of and the gravy was like pouring milk it was so thin. Nasty, nasty, nasty. I have been checking our suitcase and clothes for bed bugs too. One other guest said they had bedbugs and got bit. They had to go to urgent care to be treated.

There were dead roaches on the wall on my room and more that I saw crawling. There was trash left over from previous people on the carpet, when you walk in the room it smells like sewer. Over all I understand why it was the cheapest hotel for that weekend.

If I had not paid in advance I should have made a U-turn. Hotel is like abandoned, old, stain and light off, bathtubs with rust ……. Need renovation and clean up!!!!
