This is my second trip to the hotel California. Both time have been an excellent experience. The front lobby is clean and the staff is polite. The have a coffee shop with pastries on site. The have a restaurant that serves good food. Above the restaurant is a full bar. All the staff is great! 👌🏼 I had clean towels and bedding everyday of my stay. the showers are hot the entire time. I would recommend this to anyone heading to Los Algodones. Thank you for the great experience on my adventures!✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

It is a BIG LIE on the website & other travel APPS, I guess they just copy & paste everything from the hotel website. , I reserved the "Business suite", It says on the front door Suite but it was not a suite in any way at all. Bed was very hard & uncomfortable. Pillows were deflated & below average & I had to go & get 4 more pillows but they were giving me hard time but they gave me 2 pillows & then next night I got 2 more pillows. Towels were below average too. 1 towel was good. No wash clothes or medium size towels like other hotels. No Iron board, Iron is provided upon request. No desks on business suite? Really ? All the hardware in the bathrooms were not intact. Other customer told me she stayed in the same room last month it has been like that from last month. Very cheap coffee maker. NO MICROWAVE on the upgraded suite either. I guess bcuz they want you to go to restaurant & eat food over there. Food was just average but cheap.

My husband and I came to Los Algodones for dental work. The wifi isn't the best, it would drop a lot. The beds are a bit firm. Other than that, our stay was great. There is a cafe and a restaurant downstairs, which we frequented often when we were resting from all the dental work we had done. The restaurant had soft foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a pool which is great with the desert heat.

Very basic hotel. This is our second time here (dental work) so we knew what to expect and pack. Brought our own soap, shower gel for me and washcloths. We parked on the US side, in the overnight lot $10/night cash only. Called the hotels US number and they picked us up at the border. We booked the room with a frig, highly recommend. Packed water and soda in our luggage. The room has a mini frig and coffee maker, 2 complimentary bottles of water were already chilled. Wish they’d have a microwave to heat up soup or pasta after a day with the dentist. The on site restaurant has tasty, economical food but not much for dental patients. Talk around the pool is the margaritas are delish. What it lacks in extras, it makes up in service. They’ll drive you to your appointments and pick you up (if the dentist office doesn’t) there’s not much competition. Complimentary Netflix but couldn’t figure out how to get live tv.

We were in los Algodones for dental work where we stayed at the California for four nights. It was nothing fancy, but a typical a small town Mexican hotel - similar to a Motel-6 in the US. It was clean and did have cable TV featuring a free US channels.

Abysmal. checked out after 20 minutes. First, never a response to emails. sent 7 with travel updates. Had to call. strike one: guest asked about the internet then said he wanted to check out early. Wasn't paying attention to that as I should have. They are disorganized in a way you would have to see to believe. Price quoted at desk upon check in was challenged by man putting together a table. argument between him (manager/owner?) and front desk lady ensued until he agreed to the "cash" discount she had offered Me but for 1 night of the 4. strike two: couldn't find the key to my room "it is probably here somewhere, just not in the drawer". lady says to young man....just make another one but we need to keep better track of these keys." so multiple keys to my room floating around? lady: yeah but most of them don't work! are you serious? I had just bought no entry locks for hotel doors so I was thinking it's ok. Strike three: "Condo" is across the street in nondescript building no signage indicating as part of hotel. My daughter's iphone app showed temperature of 94 degrees when we entered. Put the a/c's on immediately? Temp had dropped to 93 when we left 15 minutes later. Immediately tried to connect to internet to look for another hotel. Tried for 15 minutes, sweltering in the heat and finally looked at my kids and said "no, just no". $120/night and we had no phone service without internet? Returned to front desk. People checking in so guy immediately said ok refund her money. Then again he yelled at the clerk because the way he had receipted the cash was confusing. I straightened it out and the man said it does not really matter bc it's coming out of his pay if it's not right. Who doesn't love a manager who has his employees' backs? Outrageous. Then two cars were blocking our exist...one from dental clinic. I went into lobby and told clerk asking them to move. 6 minutes later (and my honking the horn much to the dismay of my teenagers) finally the dental clinic van move. At this point I didn't bother to find a place to stay but headed back to Yuma. Have to return today for further dental work so there's that. Just overall ridiculously bad 15 minute stay. Save yourself the risk to your safety and intense aggravation (this after a day of 5 root canals). I do have to say the driver was lovely and accommodating but he couldn't make up for the rest of them, sadly.

Friendly staff but hotel needs to work on cleanliness and improving condition of rooms. Had to request a change of linens immediately upon inspecting the room. New linens weren’t much better. Dingy white. Hair all over the pillowcases. Pillows were also frayed and brown and desperately needed replacing. Bathroom was clean but basic. No counter space for your toiletries. Three hangers in closet area one of which was wire. Bed was HARD. Slept off and on most of the night due to hard mattress and sad pillows. Decided to forgo sleep and go to restaurant attached to hotel for breakfast. Food was cold (they simply reheated it in a microwave and it STILL wasn’t hot enough. I gave up and left it right there. Waste of money as I barely had three bites. Also has to ask for extra silverware there were food particles on a supposedly clean fork. Intended to stay three nights but checked out that morning after one extremely stressful night after a long day of travel. I have NO idea who is leaving these glowing reviews but they clearly are on another planet. Stay in Yuma and save yourself the discomfort.
