"We had the best time celebrating our anniversary at Mitchell Grass Retreat. The glamping tent was beautiful, clean, fresh and the view across the plains was even better. Located just slightly out of town, it was so peaceful and quiet. We were lucky enough to have the Longhorn cows visit us in the morning, which made the stay even more special. It truly felt like a luxurious outback retreat, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The pool was also a nice touch with beautiful lounge chairs to relax. Our tent also had a fire pit and marshmallows to roast. From the black makeup face washer to the cloud-like bed and pillows, everything was done beautifully - very good value for money. Tanya and David have created a luxurious slice of paradise in Longreach, and I’d highly recommend staying with them when you’re in the area."

"Men’s toilet block needs a fresh coat of paint and shower walls and floors Need to be stripped and resealed really disgusting, look at the pictures attached. People have previously complained about the strong smell of urine and I can understand why. The sign tells you to flush urinal after use but there is filthy piece of string to pull to flush and can understand no one would want to touch the string pull. Put in automatic sensor to flush and problem fixed. Latest electrical work used underground conduit to run new feed across ceiling looks cheap and nasty. Newer toilets up far end look a lot better but much smaller capacity. All gravel, not a blade of grass anywhere and very open to the wind. The only real positive is that it is a short walk to Stockman Hall of Fame and Qantas Museum."

They are so roomy, clean and walking distance to the town centre, which is handy when you don’t have a car. staff are very friendly and helpful no matter how many times you rang them up. Absolutely loved the welcome drinks left in the fridge for our arrival…..such a nice touch. Overall we loved our stay here and would stay again"

"Wow! The best accommodation. They have replicated last century living, but still have all the mid comforts. Everything was so authentic all the way to the coaches in the carpark! Even the old style grey blankets were there, just like my childhood"

"Wow, following our booking we received an e-mail to advise that they would forward a message on the day of arrival with room number and pin to enter room. That did not happen, arrived at the motel, no reception, need to visit another motel, 3 blocks away? Walked towards the motel. my partner called as we arrived, stating that a person had arrived at the motel to allocate rooms. Oh, wrong room, we booked the self-contained unit. Well after two couples got their rooms, we and another couple had to wait for the receptionist to return with our room and pin numbers. 10 minutes later she returned, the other couple got allocated and then she left again? I called no answer, twice i tried. After 10 minutes i tried again, wow, I got the girl after an hour of waiting I was advised she was setting the pin number and would message me. Another 10 minutes wow, I got the pin.."
