Hyde Park Radnor Hotel B&B

Great location. Easy to walk to the red line, the circle line and Elizabeth line. Room : pretty tiny for single room. Value for money : 100% room rate including breakfast

Close to Paddington, so transport is good. Not a whole heckuva lot to explore in the area. Hyde Park adjacent, and Oxford Street a comfortable walking distance, but the price is decent. The staff were extremely nice. Free morning breakfast (The lady that runs the basement cafe is wonderful. She's the resident "mum" who makes sure youo get enough to eat), which is pretty good. Fully English available, plus the usual suspects...cereal, pastries, tea/coffee. THE CONS: My room was LOUD. It wasn't from people walking by, or pounding from next door, it was the room itself. The radiator shook, banged, moaned and groaned (which radiators tend to do). The shower unit made a huge racket. I'm an early riser (I usually like to be out exploring by 7 am), and I so apologize to any of my neighbors if my morning shower woke you. Bedbugs. This has been a HUGE problem recently around the whole of London, and I specifically went through reviews to see which hotels were having major infestations (it was a pretty large part of my decision as to which hotel to book.) The Radnor had had some issues a while back, but seemed to have remedied the issue (I did pack my own mattress encasement). I found ONE BB my entire stay (which was quickly turned into bed bug puree by my shoe), and I experienced no bites that I could discern. Overall...affordable, clean enough, convenient to transport, good staff, decent breakfast. Not a bad place to stay. Would I stay there again? Probably not, but not because of the hotel, but rather the area. I found it a bit boring. I'll go back to my usual haunt of South Kensington. The hotel itself if just fine if you're going to be in that area.
