Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa

Stayed here for one night for a wedding. Beautiful location but hard to get to if you don’t drive (taxis available but fairly expensive). Staff were very friendly and polite. I had an issue with my room and they came straight away to take a look. I had to change rooms in the end and they were very helpful and gave me a free Prosecco for the trouble (though it was no trouble at all!). Breakfast was good and the bed was comfy. Wish I had more time to spend in the area as it was so beautiful!

We had a large group staying at the hotel for 2 nights. The staff worked very hard to meet our varying needs. I needed to change my room for health reasons. Mel & and Becky, on reception, were fantastic and managed to do this for us even though the hotel was at full capacity. In the restaurant, Karen was in full control of proceedings and ensured that the group was fed in an enjoyable yet efficient manner.

We needed a romantic escape to destress from work and celebrate a birthday and this was perfect. All the staff were smart, polite, friendly & welcoming. We treated ourself to the suite with the hot tub and it was even better than we imagined! It had everything we needed - peaceful and relaxing. We were sad we had to leave!

I had the opportunity to dine at the glass house. The food was of poor quality, and the service was even less satisfactory. The so-called managers, Becky and Karen, were extremely unprofessional and rude in their interactions with their staff. Their self-interest was extremely poor. They were not helpful at all, and I was extremely anticipating a visit to the glass house. I would not recommend it unless Karen and Becky are not present in the building or avoid them altogether.

Wonderful hotel, staff so very helpful and informative about local area. Bar staff Morgan and Karen were so efficient and helpful plus food was great and service just right. Room was great and very clean. No complaints at all. Nothing was too much trouble

The staff do their best but they’re fighting a losing battle. From a hot tub spa which appears to be an actual health hazard, to spider infestation, faulty toiletries holder (resulting in injury), heaters I’d be scared to turn on, inedible breakfast and a failing hotel management this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had hotel-wise. On the upside, the staff were amazing and assisted me at every turn to the best of their ability and the evening meal was excellent. Booked the penthouse to find a spa lid which was actually green with old, established mould. Couldn’t bear to spend more than 8 minutes in it for fear of some infection. Couldn’t replace the lid because it was so torn & damaged and there was no frame for holding/moving the lid. No toiletries by the bath and faulty toiletries holder in the disgusting shower resulting in personal injury. Spiders at every turn - which I thought was just me until I read another review for the same month - it seems there’s an infestation in that room. The room heater was so badly damaged I was just grateful we didn’t need to turn it on. Not able to charge anything to the room, despite reception confirming we were on the system. Breakfast was inedible. Worst I’ve experienced at a hotel possibly ever. Though the staff themselves were outstanding. The night receptionist is outright offensive. Maybe she’d had a bad night but she was outright rude. We had a different room for the second night (hence the interaction with the night receptionist). Upon checking in, we were greeted with poo in the toilet and only one set of towels between us. Manager impossible to contact, after our stay - had to resort to emailing head office just to get a reply. I love to leave a good review and always prefer to report issues directly so that issues can be rectified. In this case, I was fobbed off and dismissed. I wasn’t seeking a free stay, just that issues be acknowledged and rectified. The hotel group clearly does not value its guests. I’d recommend staying elsewhere.

Great couple of days away in this lovely hotel and town. We booked the autumn special offer which included, tea & scone on arrival, dinner, bed & breakfast & access to spa. On arrival greeted by reception staff who were very accommodating. The room we were first allocated to was nice but the view which was supposed to be scenic was overlooking the bins at the back of the hotel. So the more mature receptionist (sorry didn’t get the name) managed to get us a much better room with a small upgrade cost. The scones & tea was a welcome treat which was delicious after a 3 hour drive. Dinner was nice and breakfast also good with plenty of choice. The spa was also a welcome addition after canoeing on the canal early in the day. The spa pools were nice & hot and the steam & sauna room were hot too. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Spa treatments available but only 1 therapist on, so limits availability for a couple wanting treatments together. Room was very comfortable with a balcony over looking gardens. Bathroom massive with Elemis toiletry’s…very nice! Complementary biscuits, bottled water and hot drinks tray. Lovely towels & comfy large bed. Llangollen centre is a few minutes walk, which you can take along the gorgeous river side. Loads to do in Llangollen, with the canal, vintage trains, shops, cafes & loads more. We recommend eating in The cornmill which looks right over the river Dee. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed with our stay here. Booked a room for 1 adult and 2 children. Paid £166.50 which I don't consider cheap. The sofabed wasn't made when we arrived ( late not early arriving) had to pay an extra £14 for breakfast extra £10 to use the spa extra £ 2 for a towel at the spa and £ 7.50 for a rob. Again had to ask for towels for our bedroom as non in our room. Safe to say we will NOT be staying here again.
