Larkhill Tipis and Yurts

Great 2 nights with kids The place was really nice, we stayed at the top yurt with an amazing view. Hot showers and a flushing toilet near by as well. The kids had a great time with chickens walking around the the trails on the ground. Not an issue, but just confirm if you need to take bedding, we got two messages that first thought it was included then the seconds looked like it wasnt. It was, we brought duvets and pillows we didnt need though, our fault, just be aware.

Relaxing wonderful place We had a lovely weekend at the wonderful place. The yurt was so cosy and the log burner inside kept it really warm. The whole place was set in a woodland and each yurt had its own private area and firepit area which was great for sitting and enjoying the surroundings. The surrounding trails in the forest were magical and everything was highly eco friendly which was great to see. The fresh duck and chicken eggs to buy were especially delicious. A top find!

We booked the Brentwood Yurt last minute to end off the October school break for the 4 of us. We had a bit of a terrible journey and didn’t reach Larkhill until Very late and Fran so very kindly waited up for us getting us settled and showing us round briefly. When morning light revealed our surroundings we were stunned, situated in the middle of the woodland amongst the trees with so many different nook and crannies to explore the kids were in there element. We were unlucky to have a bit of wet and windy weekend but it didn’t put us off we toasted marshmallows In the fire pit and made hot chocolate. The facilities are great, 2 toilets and 2 showers with hot water. The hut with shared facilities were great for us to make our breakfast and do any washing up. It was peaceful, very well kept. And as someone who doesn’t camp it was very much glamping! We cannot wait to return!

We stayed for a weekend at Larkhill in the Mongolian Ger on a rainy weekend at the beginning of September and enjoyed every second of it! Fran and family have created a truly magical place for people to relax and enjoy the woodland around them. If you are passionate about eco friendly living you will love Larkhill. Their renewable energy projects, recycling and woodland management are inspiring. The Mongolian Ger was a special experience in itself. The wood burner quickly warms up creating a lovely cosy feel and at night it was lovely looking up through the clear window in the top of yurt at the stars. We didn't get to cook on the open fire outside due to the weather, but had no problems making a meal on the gas stove inside the yurt, plus there was the added option of the well equipped kitchen in the cabin if we'd needed it. Our favourite part of our stay was exploring al the hidden paths, sculptures and surprises throughout the woodland. Our daughters aged 8 and 10 were in their element creating their own mini adventures and discovering new places the whole weekend. we stayed in the Mongolian Gir and were very comfortable, a great big space, kept cosy by the woodburner and magical to look up into the trees. thankyou Fran and family for the warm welcome and for taking the time to talk with me about the developments at the site. this is a great venue for anyone wanting to "glamp" and if you have an interest in cutting edge off grid living, this is most definitely for you.

Just returned from a weekend trip with the family and friends from larkhill. Every time we go we never want to leave, such an amazing, peaceful and magical place. The kids didn't stop asking when we could go back the entire car ride home. Can't wait to return. Thank you Fran and Tony for making it an amazing weekend.
