Dockside Aparthotel, BW Signature Collection

Very good hotel

Upon arrival, the staff mentioned that I hadn't made the hotel payment. They informed me and showed me that the payment was done through trip.com. I was asked to contact trip.com myself. Luckily, the support service team was available and sorted out the issues within almost 30 minutes. And trip.com given compensation for the booking issue in Liverpool. The lady at the receptionist said that I need to collect breakfast from the receptionist every day. She also mentioned that it's very basic and not worth the cost. The pictures show the same breakfast given every day. There is always no staff at the reception as well. The Wi-Fi was the worst and always disconnected, and I couldn't connect. The room was not bad, but there was no housekeeping every day. They didn't provide coffee and toilet paper, and the fridge was spoiled. They only provided one roll of toilet paper when I asked for it, saying they would give it but didn't. On the second day, after exploring the town and returning to the hotel, the main door wasn't operating, and I couldn't go to my room. I waited outside in the cold weather for more than 30 minutes.

Great location - nice quality of build / construction. Bed - pretty awful - felt like it would break - moved when you got in - mattress very springy and soft...very disappointed. Check in staff were pleasant and informative. However, only 1 toilet roll in apartment - went looking for another one in the apartment and there was not one. I then informed a young man at reception who's response was ' oh you can just come down and get one from us ....'. What if this was midnight or later and I was ''occupied''. Not very practical then is it ??? That answer from the young man was to be frank - rubbish. No apology offered either.

The apartment is very spacious and well laid out, in a great location on the dockside and easy access into the main shopping/eating & drinking areas. The apartment itself was dirty, the floor was dirty on our arrival, the crockery was dirty in the cupboards. The window in the Devon bedroom wouldn’t close, so my daughter had to sleep in the living room due to the noise. Apartment smelt of smoke from somebody smoking in a nearby apartment. No teabags. Reported concerns to staff who were very nice and tried to help. Complaint still being processed. Sorry won’t be staying here again.

I’d like to share with you, my review of dockside apartments in Liverpool and hope that you can avoid the problems that I had. Firstly the apartments are conveniently located on the docks and very clean. We arrived at the apartment/hotel and was allocated an apartment 607 but after entering the room and finding an unpleasant smell we were allocated another room 207 which type of apartment and was told this is the only other one available as the hotel was full. After entering this next room we found firstly there was only 3 soft seats available (2 seater settee and a single chair plus 4 dining chairs despite this apartment being designed for 4 occupants and the web page showing four soft seats. We found the second bedroom to have no windows and it was so small it didn’t have any wardrobes and not even a single hook to hang a dressing gown, (this was not apparent on the web site). As others have mentioned the mattresses on the beds are clearly of questionable quality and springs can be felt. The biggest problem with this type of apartment is the ventilation system in both bedrooms which is interconnected to the bathroom and a cupboard in the living room which is working 24 seven and can be clearly heard especially in the dead of night and culminated in all four occupants getting very little sleep. We raised our concerns about these issues with the general manager who was totally in denial, unapologetic and very dismissive about these serious shortcomings. Indeed this is not a situation I would ever want to find myself in again especially at a cost of over £300 per night which is what we paid and I would urge you to check if you are allocated one of these rooms.
