The Running Horse is a very good personable country pub with rooms which are very well appointed with comfortable beds. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we had a business lunch in their semi private room which was simple but excellent. The only reason I marked them down a little was because of several carpet stains that I do feel should be removed - or if not removable then they should put in a new carpet as they were large and off putting. Highly recommended!

I popped to the pub on the 23rd Nov 25 for a nice relaxing drink and was served by Olly, a very knowledgeable and hard working person, even when he was busy he found time to ask me how I was and of course knew exactly what I wanted to drink. The atmosphere at the bar was relaxed and staff were professional. Very happy with the service provided and will be coming back.

This was our second visit as we had thoroughly ended our first visit. And we were not disappointed. We stayed in the winners enclosure ( if you book direct you get a room upgrade, a drink on arrival and later check out til 12 and breakfast included!) The welcoming drink was very well received and all the staff that day were welcoming and polite. The room was warm cosy and bed so comfy. It’s a great place to stay as a couple or with other friends/family. We will be back again in a few months to enjoy another evening away. Thank you to all at the Running Horse.

An honest opinion. To be honest, I did like the place, but I can’t put my finger on why when we arrived to check-in was easy we ordered some food we both had steaks. I asked for mine to be rare it was well done by the time I got my steak it was perfect but my wife had by then finished.. breakfast was okay but I asked for my eggs to be soft specifically I had to send them back by the time I got my breakfast my wife had finished. I found the food not very good and expensive. We both had prawn cocktails, £8.50 there were five prawns.. in the room there was a combination shower but the tap missing off of one of the appliances so you couldn’t use it. I did like the room the furniture and how it was laid out ..but the roomwas very warm but they-provide a lovely fan. The location was wonderful and very convenient for Winchester. I did like the place and I probably would go back and all these comments really are for the Hotel to try and help none of it bothered me that much but I know it would a lot of people. Just my honest opinion.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are really nicely made up from previous stables (they have removed the horses). All the facilities in the room were good and appropriate.

The Running Horse is the perfect pub and Inn for a day or evening destination. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and include beautiful walking paths around a cold. The restaurant is creatively decorated in horse stable themes and has lots of cozy nooks. The best part was the service from checkin to dinging to breakfast. Shout out to Ollie who was working his tail off with a big smile. The outdoor seating is soaked in fresh flowers and things to keep the kids playing on long summer nights. Rooms could not have been cuter. Styled rustic yet warm modern with a comfortable bed and excellent shower. Love this place.

28th June. Had a lovely lunch. Great varied menu with good choices. We all enjoyed our meals. Food quality was very good and reasonably priced - great value! Service was excellent with friendly waiters. Nice cosy pub with plenty of outdoor seating and car parking.
