The room is large and well-equipped, with slippers (most hotels in South America don't have them), but there is no view. The breakfast is very exquisite and rich. The surrounding environment is good and it is a relatively safe area.

While planning our time at Lima, we decided on just a night here. Although an Mgallery Collection, being an older property in a rather uninteresting location made us initially hesitant. Its reviews were neither that detailed nor highlighted anything special. I was glad to be proven wrong. As an Accor Platinum, I was hoping for an upgrade. However, many hotels in this part of the world do not seem to have a habit of responding to guest emails. In this case, I got a response about 3 days later from Xiomara Nuñez, the Front Office Manager. I had emailed the listed GM. She just mentioned an upgrade and a possibility of an early check-in. We arrived early from the Pullman at Miraflores after a rather average stay there. As our Uber dropped us at the front porch there was no one in view to help us with our luggage. So we hauled them inside all by ourselves where we found Shirley at the check-in desk. She was definitely not expecting us early, but offered to try and upgrade us to a suite later in the day. As there was no lounge we enquired about the breakfast which we were initially told to be not complimentary. On reminding of our Platinum status, eventually she confirmed breakfast after discussing with her supervisor. The top-floor room initially allotted was a standard one with a view of the street below. We met Christian, the rooms division manager who actually promised to upgrade us to the "best room of the hotel" once its guests checked out. As we had a full day of activities planned we left our luggage in the first room. Once we returned late in the evening we directly went to our upgraded room: the Executive Suite #701. We were pleasantly surprised to see this old-school hardwood floor suite, which would be perhaps referred to a junior suite today. It still had all the amenities. On entrance there was a mini kitchen with a built-in hotplate, a microwave, a chimney, a basin and the minibar which had an illy espresso machine and the supplies. The living area had a 3-seat sofa and a longish stool with a coffee table in between. Next, near the window there was a round dining table with two chairs. There was a partition between the living area and the bedroom which had the suite's only television that could be swivelled to either side. The bed was an extra large king which was very comfortable. The wooden headboard and the end tables were integrated which continued to the ceiling. There was also a glass-topped working desk with a reasonable chair. A small passage with wardrobes along its entire length led to the bathroom. This was an old-style three fixture bathroom that had a combination shower and tub. The tub may have a jacuzzi but we couldn't test it. Welcome amenities were a plated desert, some other goodies and a hand written card from the front desk. Because of our early check-out next morning we only had a few hours in our suite. So we initially planned for a room-service dinner. But once our welcome drink was

Marcos and Shirley did an excellent job of making us feel at home and treated us with the utmost respect. Shirley was very instrumental in selecting and giving us directions to a local archeological site. Their professionalism and smiles were very appreciated. Job well done!
