Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lima

Stayed here for one night on our travels home. Front staff is very friendly and check in was a breeze. Hotel is starting to show it's age, however our room was clean and the bed was comfy. The faux leather head board in our room is starting to peel, the ice machine on our floor had large water marks and rust stains on the floor under neath it and the garbage can by the ice machine was over flowing. It was late on a sunday evening when we arrived, so I take into account they may not have had the staff till Monday morning to empty the garbage. They have a great breakfast selection and the person working the breakfast counter was super helpful and friendly. Overall i would stay here again if we were in the area.

Great experience overall. Great value for the money. Only downside was you could not use Apple Pay or charge food to the room from the pizza shop/bar. I was not aware of this policy and had to go back to the room to get my wallet.Not a huge issue but more of an inconvenience at 9pm. Hotel was clean and well maintained. I’d stay here again. Family loved it and are picky.

Our experience at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lima was not good at all. When we arrived to the hotel and checked in it was 11PM. We got the keys to our room and then headed to the car to unload our bags. After unloading our bags onto a cart we proceeded to the elevator to our room. The elevator was filthy and making loud screeching noises which were unsettling. Upon entering our room we were greeted with a strong odor of mustiness and chemicals. After turning on the lights to the room we were very discouraged to find crumbs on almost every surface in the room along with old food and/or garbage ground into the carpeting in various spots. There were greasy handprints on the ceiling in several places, and there were hairs all over the floor of the bathroom. The worst thing we encountered, however, were small bug carcases and debris under the pillows of our bed. We were mortified! After discovering the bugs, we immediately called down to the front desk, and were told they would need to call us back as the hotel was completely booked and they didn't know what to do. The front desk finally called us back about 10 or so minutes later and told us to come to the front desk, as they found us another room, after we were told they did not have any available rooms. We never even took our bags off the cart. So we headed down to the front desk with our bags and were told that even though the hotel was completely booked the manager was able to somehow find us a room. We decided that given the condition of our first room and the hallways and elevator, and the fact that there were bugs which we assume were bed bugs... we would much rather receive a refund and stay somewhere else. We were able to book a room at the Holiday Inn Express across the parking lot and had a much better experience!
