Numbers on the doors would have helped but I know this will be done! Food was very good and we asked for a particularly early breakfast at 6 am and it was dead on time! 👍🏽 thanks guys!"

"This hotel is very run down. The rooms are shabby, the bathrooms are not very clean. Water comes out of the taps brown. The restaurant is halal so if you want a drink you have to go to the sports bar next door. The swimming g pool is empty with broken furniture around it. The whole experience was not pleasant I’m afraid."

"Within 10 minutes of checking in we found bed bugs in the bed. We were gaslighted and told it was sand. If I can post the picture, I will and you can decide for yourself if the picture shows bed bugs. We were put out for transportation to a new hotel and more money for the room. Not to mention the place hasn’t been decorated in years. It looks a luxury hotel from out of I Love Lucy era."

"The hotel is strategically located in the City of Lilongwe within the Bingu WaMutharika International Conference Centre (BICC) and is accessible from various entry points positioning it as ideally easily accessible hotel. Because of its location, it makes accessing key places easy as transport can also be arranged by hotel reception staff. I like the hospitality of reception staff including the porters who were very helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast is great with a variety of food catering for different dietary needs something critical as most people are now careful about what they eat as it determines their health. I would recommend anyone passing through Lilongwe to try Umodzi Park Hotel for a home away from home life experience. "

"Thank you for your comfort and care. I have traveled extensively in Africa and this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. The rooms are clean, the showers work well and there is hot water, which in my experience is very rare in Africa. The air conditioning saves from the heat. Also the hotel has a lovely interior and a restaurant with excellent food. Another separate plus is the location of the hotel. Nearby there is everything you need. It is very safe and pleasant. Thank you! I will stay again when I am in Lilongwe. "

"I initially chose this Guest House due to proximity to where colleague was staying. They were in 4* hotel they had to move out of due to issues, Burley is classed as 3* but a fantastic place that is worthy of more. From support before arrival arranging transport from airport to the continued service during stay it could not have been better. The beds are comfortable and clean, TV selection good if you have time. Gardens pleasant and breakfasts made fresh to order. All the staff appear friendly and happy, nothing requested is too much bother. The honesty bar develops a sense of family as does the lounge area. I really enjoyed my stay there and would rebook without second thought. We had a hire veh which helped as there is not a lot close by but the Cantina provides a good vibrant restaurant within walking distance."

"Beautifully landscaped grounds right in the middle of the action of downtown Lilongwe. The room was small but very well decorated and had view of the gardens. Plus fridge, kettle and good wifi (for Malawi!). I walked 1/2 km to a mall and grocery store to stock up on provisions for my trip to Lake Malawi. The staff was helpful and there was a nice swimming pool. My only complaint is why is the restaurant buried in a dark back room when the hotel is littered with beautiful gardens to look at? The food and restaurant staff were great though."

Guess they are trying to create a romantic atmosphere by dark and candle light are different things. Won’t come back again.
