"We had a great stay at this lovely, historic hotel. The rooms were so comfortable and beautifully furnished. The beds were super comfortable. It was spotless and cozy. The area around Middleham is brilliant for walks and for experiencing the Yorkshire Dales in all their glory. Seeing the racing horses come out from their stables, ride through the town and up to the gallops for training is a bonus. Oliver was so welcoming and we wish him every success. Highly recommended."

"Just returned from another stay at the Wensleydale Heifer. Another outstanding meal, the prawn cocktail, seafood pancake, strawberry pannacotta I will remember for a long time! We try to visit whenever we visit the dales and we were lucky enough to stay this time in the Gin room for the weekend. Spotlessly clean lovely room with cake, real coffee and a gin and tonic provided! The staff are amazing and the food sublime. It’s a very special place and we are looking forward to seeing you at Christmas"

"This is the second time we've stayed in the Wensleydale Pod and we absolutely love it. So much so it's definitely our new yearly tradition. The pods have everything you need, they're super clean, really cozy (but also surprisingly spacious) and stay lovely and warm. The welcome pod is also great and my little boy loved choosing DVDs to watch and games to play. We also hired the gas BBQ this time which was brilliant for cooking breakfast. Nearby i'd recommend the Wensleydale Creamery and Forbidden Corner for fab days out, especially with kids. Thank you for another lovely stay in the most beautiful surroundings - we can't wait to return in 2023 :)"

"We were a family of 12 with ages ranging from 17 to 85 and we all had a fabulous stay here. The house is stunning, every bedroom was large, comfortable, beautifully decorated with lovely comfy beds and large ensuites. We loved the bar area with the large tv, the huge dining room and really liked the sitting room where we could all sit together in comfort. The kitchen is large and extremely well equipped, lots of fridge space for all our food and drink! The house is absolutely spotless, well done to the housekeepers. Communication with Henry was excellent. All in all, not a single complaint and a good time was had by all for our special birthday weekend, despite the dismal British summer weather!"

"Location: Askrigg is like a warm hug - and not a drive-through (like Hawes), you feel instantly at peace, and there are two great pubs for dinner as well as the most brilliant bakery for sandwich to go (for your walks). House: Barry knows everything of value about the area and what’s (actually) going on geologically, topologically or peoplenonlogically. Rooms: Stunningly beautiful and wildly spacious with Super King sized bed which is really comfortable for Size Large people like us who (like to) take up space. This village is completely quiet at night, so even if your view is of the beautiful village, you will have a solid sleep. Breakfast: Freshly cooked and superior. Served by Barry."

"Really lovely apartment. We stopped in the one facing the village (can’t remember which one it was called) Pretty outlook, lovely village feel. The owner was very welcoming and so helpful with recommendations of where to eat/visit (we would recommend The Middle, enjoyed a lovely evening meal there!) She was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well presented. Loved the decor, modern but in keeping with the Victorian building. We will definitely be back. Love the dales and the friendly locals make it!"
