Far from the center, without a car it is certainly inconvenient but a great solution to save if you have a car.
The room was really basic and a bit bare, but functional and the bed was comfortable.
In the common room there are microwave and kettle available.

We looked at the room and it was not for us, we felt very unsafe, it looks like a place where the homeless people should be staying.
We canceled our stay.

This is a post-secondary residence and was exactly as I expected. Clean, comfortable, and affordable. That the reception desk is staffed until 11 pm was a welcome surprise.

It is a student residence, letting out rooms during the summer. There is a bus service direct to old Quebec, but it runs only once an hour (sometimes 90 minutes between buses). You need Google maps or equivalent to avoid waiting at the stop. Toilets and showers are communal. Plenty of toilets, but only one shower per floor that I could find.

It's a very old place but it had what we needed. It's not close to the city but that's a small issue. It was nice but far from perfect.
