Overall, we were pleased with the site; right on the beach with access to the lake for paddle boarding, swimming, etc, a great, affordable restaurant and friendly, helpful, English speaking staff. The only thing to let our stay down slightly were the showering/washing facilities which didn't seem ample enough to cope with the volume of campers. The facilities next to the restaurant seemed tired and more dated than those in the main camping area however, the staff did appear to be cleaning as much as possible. Outside the camp, you could hear the bells from the local church which were a lovely reminder of where we were in Italy! There's a good supermarket, 10 minutes walk from the site and Lesa was 25 minutes away on foot too. From here, Belrigate was only 5 minutes further. Both towns had places to eat or stop for a drink and beautiful, lakeside views from the pedestrianised promenade. The bus into Lesa was 2.5E each one way. Stresa - 3.5E During our stay here, we took the hop on/off ferry from Belrigate to the Borromean Islands which cost 43E for the two of us. The lady in the tourist information centre was extremely helpful! Also, we drove to Lake Orta which was amazing and only a 50 minute drive away! All in all, a great base and we would return! Thank you Camping Solcio!
