"Calling it a "hotel" is almost misleading. I expect a hotel to have a staffed reception during opening hours. The reception was unmanned both at check-in and check-out in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we had to call the hotel to find out where we could get the key. It turns out there are key safes. One of them had completely worn-off numbers. The reception wasn't open any afternoon. There was no liquid soap in the room. The atmosphere is somewhat like a hotel for tradespeople. There's a common room and a snack machine. The service staff consisted of only one person. There were two people at breakfast. The service wasn't particularly attentive. Special requests that were communicated before arrival weren't even acknowledged. A shame. As a business traveler, I've experienced much better hotels."

"We had decided to spend this year's family party in Heidelberg. The short-term booked Hotel Englhorn had still the desired rooms free. Even when checking in, we were excited by the friendliness of the staff. The room was well enough large and beautifully renovated. You note here is love in detail. Also the additional booked breakfast (14,-- €). Has met all the needs."
