Great staff in all areas of the hotel! Keith in the bar area, Linsey at front desk and many others were amazing. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, other reviews talk to run down items but I did not notice anything wrong during my stay. The food and beverage are excellent along with everything priced appropriately. The grounds are beautiful as well, including two fun golf courses.

While this place is a decent enough hotel, it's by no means a 5 star hotel, 4 at best. Go down the road to Powerscourt and they'll show you what a 5 star hotel is. Came home yesterday after 2 nights there. Room was lovely. Food was fab on our first night in the garden rooms, 2nd night was OK. No flavour whatsoever from the orrichiette pasta, just pure bland. Breakfast on both mornings was just lousy. Food in the hot holds were stone cold. Said it to the manager, but it was still the same the next morning. Opted for the porridge instead, that was basically gruel. There are too many bad reviews on TripAdvisor about the breakfast, that you would think the head chefs would actually do something to correct this issue. Something this hotel is missing, between breakfast and lunch, is a coffee bar. I love a flat white or a cortado. I went looking for a coffee after breakfast had finished but there was nowhere to get one. I had asked the concierge where I could get one and he was willing to and try and get one for me, I told him it was fine because it actually sounded like hard work. That's not on him, he was lovely, I didn't want him to be going out of his way for just a coffee. All that lobby space going to waste, you'd be cleaning up with a coffee bar/menu. I had to go all the way into town just to get a decent cuppa. Booked into the spa, had a lovely guy do my treatments on me, I cannot remember his name but he was just wonderful. An absolute delight and amazing at his work. Pool was fine too, my son had a great time both mornings in it. When we were in the elevator yesterday morning heading for breakfast, it suddenly kept slamming like it was about to go into free fall. It did this 3 times and scared the living daylights out of myself and my son. Went to reception about, they didn't seem too bothered. My son for the rest of the day and since we got home has not stopped talking about how frightened he was in the lift. My son is autistic and this triggered him a great deal. Maybe in future, if something like that happens again, you go out of your way to make sure your guests are actually OK instead of saying "Oh sorry about that". I definitely would not be in a rush back.

A really disappointing dining experience. Even though we had a reservation (made at the time of hotel booking), we were waiting almost an hour to be seated. It was frustrating seeing other guests, with a reservation later than us, being brought to their table before us. We were asked to wait for a table to be ready, but we were completely forgotten about. And we weren't the only ones. It has really left a sour taste in our mouth.

Definitely does not look like a 5 star hotel. Yes the grounds are gorgeous but the inside needs updating. Paint faking off windows, shower in room was leaking out onto the floor. Biggest insult of all was 44 euro for a steak but only thing edible for me o it, I asked if there was potatoes, onion and mushrooms with the .steak and was told I could have them for extra cost. Crazy price really for a steak and some potato and apple square thing. Was lovely but just wasnt worth 44euro. Biggest insult of all was after paying and leaving to sit in the bar, was asked by a staff member soon after if I would mind paying for the meal. Told him I had paid, he left and then came back few mins after to apologize for the mistake. Pool was fantastic, bar was fantastic and the staff were very nice but no way does it look like a 5 star hotel inside.

Booked a family stay for 2 nights. While in restaurant, I found a short hair in my food. The waiter brought it into kitchen for investigation, and came back out and said that it was my hair but I 'could still have a dessert on the house if I wanted'. This was very disappointing in a 5 star resort to be accused. The general manager spoke to the waiter and apologised but still said 'well he said it was your hair.' This is not the service you expect from a 5 star. Playground is 'falling apart' and needs to be updated. Bar area was all booked up for dinner and we did not have anywhere after dinner to go to have a drink. I found it strange that the hotel would book up the whole bar and leave nowhere but the reception area (away from bar) for the customers to enjoy a few drinks. The pool was nice and so was the room. Food was lovely too. I was just disappointed with how things were handled on our first night. This hotel does not meet criteria for a 5 star in my opinion.

Lovely location with fabulous grounds not far from Dublin. Rooms were very spacious and spotlessly clean. Great bathroom with bath and separate shower. Nice lobby area and good bar. Very nice out door seating area. Staff and service was very good throughout our stay. Great pool!

Definitely not 5 star anymore. The breakfast staff need training, coordination and supervision. Very poor service at breakfast. Had to leave my seat to get a staff members attention and when I did they seemed like a rabbit in the headlights. No one came to check if we would like more tea or coffee. Dirty plates were not cleared from our table. Garden rooms staff and food were both excellent. Overall not the 5 star that it used be. Elemis and loccitane toiletries were in the rooms last time we visited... this time it was large bottles of something stuck to the walls. Saw guys doing turn down services, but we did not have anyone visit our room . Surely a 5 star hotel provides turn down to all rooms.

Really top class hotel, food was excellent and service exemplary. Only downside was hearing the exercise class emanating from the gym at 7:30am. Keep the doors closed / turn up the air conditioning inside the gym if people are too warm!!!
