I am disappointed in Hilton and Hampton Inn. The day before I arrived, I called to request an early check in. Renee firmly but professionally told me that that was very unlikely to happen but that I should call back in the morning on the off-chance that we could get in half-an-hour early. The next day I called, and the lady rudely and condescendingly told me that check-in was at 3:00. We arrived at the hotel at 1:00 (because that's when our travel caused us to arrive in town), and Cherelle at the front desk merely repeated over and over that "check-in is at 3:00." She was aggressively unhelpful. Neither she nor Renee explained why it wasn't possible to get into at least one room at any point before 3:00. They didn't ask what travel problem we were trying to solve, didn't ask if they could store our luggage until the room was ready. Nothing. There was no behavior that indicated that Hilton is at all in the business of providing customer service. They made me feel like I was in their way rather than their revenue source. I have been going to Hilton properties for personal travel exclusively for almost 20 years. I am not anymore. Hilton is not the company I once new. Aggressively unhelpful. And I still don't know why we couldn't get in the rooms early. The housekeeping staff was lovely and wonderful and appeared to be done by noon every day. And the room reeked of mold and kicked up my allergies. The microwave was so small it couldn't pop a bag of popcorn. If I go back to Laurel, I won't stay here; I'll stay in Hattiesburg. I'm sad. I'll miss the Hilton of yore. That said, Housekeeping was great. They were friendly, and the rooms were clean. If the Housekeeping staff is promoted to management, I'll come back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the last several years, and the staff almost feels like family. They welcome me and do everything possible to make my stay comfortable. I’ve watched them do this for everyone, not just me. They are conveniently located off the interstate and in a safe, quiet area. A particular shout out to Cherrel and Shannon. They are kind, compassionate, and always willing to help. I love seeing their smiling faces every time I go. Anuj, the owner, must stay busy 24 hours a day but every time I see him, he has a smile on his face and makes me feel like a valued customer. if you’re traveling through, this is a great stop over and if you’re working or visiting in the area, this is my favorite place to stay.

Rudest Hilton General Manager in the entire hotel industry!!! This hotel general manager REFUSED to allow early check-in. Not an hour early - not even 10 minutes!! This Saturday, there were five groups waiting to check-in, none was allowed until exactly 3pm. To be clear, the hotel was mot sold out. The rooms were all ready long before 3 pm. As a matter of fact, when we checked out 2 days later at 11am, housekeeping (which there were many, so short staffed is not the excuse) had clean and readied 5 rooms on our floor. I am pretty sure most rooms are ready well before 3 pm. When asked why Hilton Honors members could not check-in early, the general manager replied, "The check-in time is 3pm. That's our policy." Same answer even at 2:50. Rooms were ready, customers waiting - but not until 3pm. I even offered to PAY for early check-in. There are other hotels in and near Laurel. Please find a hotel where your business is wanted and appreciated. We are contacting Hilton and expressing our dissatisfaction. Stay away.

We went 4 days without the room being cleaned. No trash collection, no towels or fresh bedding and we even ran out of toilet paper. The front desk girl, Summer, whenever we spoke to her she couldn’t look up from her phone. We asked for her help but never got it. When we complained to Hilton directly the Hotel manager called us and said we weren’t nice to Summer. They double charged us for a night and pet fee, which I am disputing. Do not stay here. I have been a Hilton Honors Gold member for multiple years, staying at dozens of hotels and this has been the worst.

The customer service here is horrible! I travel a lot for work (non profit) and in particular the past 3 months. They had my email incorrect and I never received a confirmation email for my reservation. I ended up booking another hotel because I received no notice. They refuse to acknowledge their mistake and even hung up on me when I suggested for the sake of customer service and PR to provide a refund. Do NOT stay here because you will get no notice of anything they mess up on and it will cost you!

Dangerous Safety Concerns - At 1am we had intruders in our room. This was very close to being a life or death situation. It ends up that a family had a key to the same room number but in a another, nearby hotel (different brand, but owned by same person). So their key not only allowed them entry into the hotel after hours, but access to our room. Management and Staff was alerted, but nothing has been done to address the issue, other than offering a 1 hour late checkout. This is a very serious safety issue, one that almost cost the life of a child. Think twice before booking here.
